Too old, too expensive. We have our #1 WR, and it is a position where you can find guys to fill in around Dez at a much cheaper price. Give me an established run game, Dez Bryant, and guys who can run nice routes and catch. We don't need anything spectacular, just reliable route runners with hands. There will be another Miles Austin or Laurent Robinson that comes around. Put the big bucks in the trenches, and buy time for people to get open. On the other side, eliminate time for opposing offenses to get open.

I can see the Pats picking him up. Offering Houston Mallet along with a draft pick and Amendola, Dobson, etc.

Johnson in New England would have the potential for Brady to Moss like numbers all over again, especially with Edleman coming on strong last year.

Wonder if Jerry has learned anything from trading a 1st, 3rd and 6th round draft pick for Roy Williams and a 7th round pick. He's probably thinking he could get him for a 1st and 3rd....

We don't do business like that any more.

I'm sure if he's talking about all the systems & coaches he's had that he would only want to go to a contending team. If he has that choice that is. They should accommodate him if it comes to that.

I guess Fitzpatrick, Keenum and Savage don't excite him. RT @ChronBrianSmith: Andre Johnson: "Is this still the place for me?"

Johnson has not requested trade. Talks to Texans once a week. But he's been through a lot, Texans are rebuilding and he's unsure of future
Andre Johnson: "This offseason has been very frustrating for me." Doesn't plan to attend OTAs. #Texans

He has been unhappy before. This time seems a bit different... Column: Johnson sees no light at end of Texans' tunnel http://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/columnists/solomon/article/Johnson-sees-no-light-at-end-of-Texans-tunnel-5476136.php?t=fed8504f71&cmpid=twitter-premium&t=fed8504f71b37d840b…

The Texans aren't actively trying to trade Andre Johnson. He hasn't demanded a trade. But now that the draft is over a trade is more likely.
Had the Texans come out of the draft with an exciting young QB, Johnson's presence would have been more valuable. That didn't happen.
If a QB that gives them a legitimate chance at success this season falls out of the sky and lands on Kirby, Johnson will be valuable.
As is, they might decide that the cap savings of trading him might be worth more to them than his presence on the team. Emphasis on "might."
Dre has walked a 1st-time coach through the growing pains before. He's walked 1st-time QBs through growing pains too. He's tired of losing.
To answer a couple of repeat ?s: 1. The team has known Andre's feelings for some time. 2. Not about $. Most seasons Dre has been underpaid.

@JeromeSolomon Andre Johnson is why Bill Parcells cut Emmitt Smith and ran off Larry Allen. Hard for new coach to operate w/vet whose voice

Cleveland would be a good landing place for him.

Not if he wants to win. It's a good landing spot for a younger veteran with upside, but I think he wants to go to a team that has a solid QB and defense in place. He's been through 3-rebuilding processes. I imagine he's not looking to leave and go to what he left behind.

Sorry but as usual JJT is talking out of his rear end. Emmitt was cut because we could not afford him with how far he had declined. LA the same way; those last two Pro Bowls he got on were real jokes; the man had no mobility left at all. That injury he got in 2002 for all intents and purposes finished his career. He still had the power but that was all he had.
