How in the hell did this guy get in before Haley? Better yet, how is he in before Derrick Thomas?????

Tippett was a great player and totally deserves it, IMO.

(Not that Haley doesn't.)

oh I thought this was like a wrestling match.

Tippet was great, deserves to be in.

100 sacks in 11 years - not too shabby - definitely deserves it.

Especially when you look at some of the teams he was on and some of the guys he played with.

Or Richard Dent.

Or Chris Carter.

Charles Haley definately belongs in the HOF.

He'll get in - it's a no-brainer.

Tippett was a beast, but Haley was better and he is the only player to get 5 Superbowl rings.

Not to get off track, but to me, Chris Carter isn't a Hall of Famer.

Tippett was a truly dominant player in his day -- he was like a mini-LT. I wasn't that old when he was playing, so I'm sure some people just didn't see him. But he was a great linebacker.

Derrick Thomas is not a better player than Tippett, to those that were insinuating that.

Yep, Thomas was a force for sure, but he was more of a specialized pass rusher.

I don't know about that one at all. Fact is - they were both truly awesome players.

Yeah being the second leading reciever in catches and yards for his career...clearly Carter is no where near a Hall of Famer.

Wow.

As for Tippett he was a stud. I do think Haley and Dent should have been in before him, they both should have already gotten in long ago, but I have no problem with Tippett being in.

The guy that got in this year that has me scratching my head is Fred Dean.

He was more of a one dimensional player (pass-rusher). If we're going to play that game then Harvey Martin should be in.

The all-timer, though, is Lynn Swann. Ugggh. Supposedly, he may not have had the numbers, but he had the "signature catches" in big games. And Drew Pearson didn't?

Ya know, this crap never ends. Every year players get in that, comparatively speaking, are on par with or don't measure up to Cowboys who are not in.

I hate the Hall of Fame.

Well I will agree that there should be a few more cowboys players in that aren't in yet.

I don't hate the Hall though. But I do understand your frusturation over some of those who have gotten in and some of those who haven't.

Every year I understand you more and more on this. Watching the NFLN show before the announcement yesterday was pretty enlightening -- Rod Woodson and Adam Schefter went at it pretty good.

And seeing the collection of sports writers that vote on this thing on the front row of the audience... These guys could put a Vegas buffet out of business. Of course Peter "The Hutt" King is symbolic of all of them. I know they can write just fine no matter what their cardiologist says, but there just seems to be something wrong with having a bunch of cliquish, politicking slobs like that making these decisions.

Because he should have gotten in when he first started to become eligible.
