Another Cole Beasley thread

I have not seen a thread on this, but what the heck is up with Beasley? He has almost disappeared from the offense, and he has to be the worst punt returner in the league. How many times is this guy going to call for a fair catch inside the 15 and 10 yard line. This is maddening when it comes to field position.

He's basically a decoy at this point. And he doesn't really seem to be part of the plan offensively.

As for punts they trust him to not fumble that's about it.

Funny how guys who aren't used right get called bums.

He'll be somewhere else next year and be productive. He's been a good Cowboy

Screw that clown. And it’s pretty funny how he gets a pass around here with his attitude. On Coopers long td he looked like he’s rather be anywhere but on the field. Let that be Dez or TO though.

I'm ok with the fair catches, because at least I know he's not gonna fumble. Beasley is on his way out of town. He is unhappy with the lack of targets he's gotten the last 2 years, and if you follow him on Twitter it's obvious he doesn't want to be here. He hasn't come out and said that, but things he re-tweets make it clear he will not be wearing a star next season.

I honestly thought his catches/targets would go up a bit after the trade. But it appears the trade instead opened up many other targets.....Gallup, Zeke, TEs. He and Hurns numbers are def down......

He has made of living of feeling himself on Twitter and no one is feeling him on the field.

Every good receiver wants the ball and is not happy when they don't get it. It's called competitiveness, and it's a good trait for a receiver.

As far as fielding the punts with fair catches, how do we know that he has been told to use his own judgment, or whether he's been told to fair catch it? If there's no running lane, he should fair catch it.

We can't sit in our living room and say a player should be returning it when we don't see what he sees and know what he's been told...

Youre correct. We start off with the 26th best starting field position.

Despite that our offense is 16th in points per drive. Impressive.

Not sure why Beasley has disappeared from gameplan. Possibly playing less snaps?

Blame Linehan. We don’t run him across the middle of the field. That area of the field is reserved for The tight ends and Zeke. Beasley can win any matchup one on one.

He will be fine. He will have his games. They are working Cooper and Gallop right now. If Dak misses Gallop on another wide open route I am gonna scream again.. Easy TDs this team has to make that play.

If you’re a Beasley fan, better enjoy the next 3 games and whatever the Cowboys do in the playoffs. Because I have a hard time seeing a 30 year old small slot receiver with below average numbers getting the kind of contract he and his agent will be looking for in the off season.

I like Cole Beasley. He’s been a nice player for us for several years. But there are younger, cheaper slot receivers with more upside than CB that can duplicate or even exceed his numbers.

We should have kept Switzer and gotten rid of Gathers. Gathers has not been what we thought he would turn out to be; actually, Gathers looks a bit awkward on the field but Im sure he is rusty from being benched most of the game.

Gallup and Cooper are better all around guys. I thought Cooper would of allowed Beas to eat more in the slot though.
