Asked about Romo's status for Sunday:

“I have no idea. All I know is he broke his finger and that's what we said all along and he did not practice, so that's where we are.”

He's the HC. He should know. He should be the "decider" about romo's status.

Then he said romo would have no chance to play if he did not practice, though Romo did throw before Wednesday's practice but not during. Also, Romo suggested he wanted to play Sunday.

Seems to me that, more and more, Wade Phillips has become a caretaker.
Maybe Wade Wilson or Jason Garrett will be the deciders on this one.

At any rate, WP needs to at least act like he's HC and in the know about his personnel instead of just looking like the Michelin Man on the sidelines.

Parcells would have said pretty much the same thing - "Ask the trainers." Difference is, BP would make reporters feel stupid for asking in hopes of intimidating them from asking again.

Like I have said many times, Wade Phillips has turned into a real version of "Coach Klein" from "The Waterboy". You know the scene before the big game and Coach Klein is having an emotional breakdown in his office. That's Wade.

Oh please, if he did know why would he tell the media to begin with? Until Romo can even get out and practice chances are no one knows if he can go or not. Lastly how many coaches say the status of a player is a game time call? Until the staff can see what Romo can do at paractice and then see how he responds the following day chances are they don't know.

agenda anyone. How about he has a way of deflecting the press like that. It's just another way of saying wait and see what develops and he does have a broken throwing hand. Did you want him to get into a long discourse which would only have been exploited negatively by those who do that. He can't say mind your own business.

If you watched the guy and gave him the benefit from a lifelong association with football most of it employed in the NFL after being raised by a very good NFL head coach then you might take what he says differently.

Hahahaha! Michelin man, Brian Stewart and Bruce Read. What a trio. Wade even brought his son in for some quality control garbage if I remember right? The ole man doesn't know squat about quality control, not sure what jr knows judging by this teams erroneous play game to game.

What difference does it make? Do you watch other coaches around the league? Guess what, they all do the same thing. Listen to Belichick talk about injuries some time.

I get so sick of people who look for things to pick at, be they fans or media.

He did say one thing in the PC, if Romo does not practice at all he won't play.

I think after 1.5 years we can now honestly say that Wade lies his arse off about anything to do with injuries. He just isn't a great natural liar (I think Wade is basically a nice guy at heart hehe), so he gives slivers of info here and there, that he really doesn't want to.

There is no way a guy coaches this long in the league without knowing the EXACT injury status of his players, at least a few hours after the game.

He doesn't like giving out info on injuries, and he doesn't tell the truth when asked, and he looks confused etc because he's crap at lying.

On the flip side, Parcells could stare you straight in the eye and throw you off the scent, and later laugh at everyone behind their backs about how he fooled them, enjoying every second of it.

Now if Wade would have said, "I like how jello feels in my shorts".. that would have been disturbing.

Lie or mis-information? all coaches do it hell most will either list nearly all players on the injury list leading up to a game as the Pats do or not hardly any on the list as BP did. One thing for sure coaches are not going to tip off other teams if they don't have to. I don't know if I would call that lying or just not giving out information.

Is it game time? No. Then he still has time to make a decision. In this case, I wouldn't make my decision until I had too.

Believe me, I DO NOT protect Wade, but I am fair about it.

Wade Phillips has forgotten more about football than any of us have ever known. This is getting silly.

Wait!

Jell-O in the shorts is always good.

Some other points.

#Though it is best to be coy, the point is, he said "I have no idea."
Say anything, Wade. Say we are evaluating the situation/He's day to day but right now our plans are to start Johnson/We're awaiting word and we might not know until game day etc. etc. etc., just don't say you are clueless, Wade.

Saying something like that is just abdication.

#There is no question Wade a great guy.

# I appreciate the Wade loyalists' defense of him.

# The Michelin Man is a beloved icon. :D

Once the head-injury rehab is complete and I am fully mobile, I do want to move away from farmers branch, though I would miss the square dancing, bowling and low property values.
