It's a shock we're 12-1, considering how utterly stupid our front office is. Clearly they'd be better off with you running the show.

This from a guy who chastised me in September for saying the Browns looked like a 5-win team or better. Turns out I undersold them. When can I expect your mea culpa? Oh, that's right. You're never wrong.

BTW, one nice year does not wipe Jerry's slate clean. How many nickels did he have to feed into the machine before finally hitting the jackpot? A billion? And none of this changes the fact that McNeil has a brighter upside than Jerry's latest imports. Don't tear McNeil down to build up one of your own. It's tacky.

Mea culpa for not realizing that Derek Anderson was a half-decent QB. Same goes for their own front office considering they gave him the opportunity to win it during training camp and couldn't beat out Charlie Frye.

Put Frye or Quinn back in, and they're back to a 3-4 win team.

One nice year? How about 3 Super Bowls. We've made the playoffs in 2 of the last 3 years. And now we're the hands down Super Bowl favorite out of the NFC. Clean slate? The guy doesn't need a clean slate. He's got a slate full of accomplishments.

I'm not tearing him down. But the fact is, he'd be a backup here just like our other picks.

Well, I mean then you add on all the teams who wouldn't have taken him because they have star young LTs - or the Eagles and Jets, who both took tackles higher than McNeil in the draft - and you come to the conclusion that you're exaggerating, or there are quite a few braying *******s GMing in the NFL.

I was talking hypothetically. If you put all these guys on the market, which ones would be snapped up first?

Edit: Actually, since Fasano plays about 1/2 of our offensive snaps, he's been much more valuable to us than McNeil would have.
Yep, and we'd hear all the whining about him instead.

When I watched him last week, he was like Rob Pettiti or Torrin Tucker bad. I've heard the Chargers coaches have considered benching him. I don't see how someone's play could drop that significantly from one year to the next, unless those back problems are starting to surface. This is almost exactly like his dropoff from his junior to senior year in college thanks to the back problems.
