Another Jordan Shipley Thread...

I'm fine with us taking him as long as it's the 3rd round or later, but he would pretty much just be a replacement for Crayton, and I don't really see any reason for us to draft Crayton's replacement. The production of both will probably end up being similar.

your kidding right? go watch his kick return against OU.

i love all these guys who couldnt break 4.8 im sure, commenting on a guy looking slow

that has nothing to do with anything lol...

He gets up to top speed quick, I could care less what he runs 40 yards in a straight line. Not like this offense takes deep shots anyway.

so basically you made a judgement based on assumptions, without any knowledge.......and then once you actually got knowledge you changed your stance and realized you were wrong? I know this isn't the political forum, but if only our Congress would do the same....I mean actually educate themselves before voting on bills...

well at least you are now in the know. I for one have great knowledge of Shipley, since I see all but one UT game every season. I never watch the PPV game to start the year.

Shipley is the best WR prospect the Horns have had since Roy Williams. IMO, he is a better prospect than Limas was....and better than Quan, though I am a huge fan of Quan.

Actually, I just thought he wasn't much of a big play threat from the slot which we need, but after watching some tape that wasn't the case. And I didn't really make any assumptions. Was considering him slow an assumption? He ran times of 4.56 and 4.57. But he plays much faster then that. So, no I didn't make any assumptions and yes I had a fair amount of knowledge on the situation.

No kidding.

And I don't get that anyway. He looks slow even in the highlights.

LOL, looks slow on tape? oooooooooooooooookay. So did Wes Welker and Steve Smith.

i believe it does. but if i say anything else about it ill get bashed cause im sure 90% on this board couldnt hit that time.

Shipley reminds me of Stokely, he may not be the fastest guy on the field but he just gets open period. There is no way Texas goes on the run they went on last year without Shipley. He has good hands and he is a character guy, and you get some kick/punt return ability to boot. I'll take him on my team any day with a mid-late round pick.

You hit it on the nose big guy. Thats exactly what I did. What's the problem?

Unless irrationality is a problem, there is none.

Huh?

Strange two names to pick out. You talking about the Giants Steve Smith, I hope?

And I still don't get why you'd change your opinion after seeing youtube vids. Did you not ever see him play live?

And catch... Video card works fine. ;)

In my opinion, drafting Shipley would be the equivalent of drafting a kicker.

:lmao2: @ this thread... No thanks, I'd rather draft McCluster.

Me too. I'd be coo with Shipley though, no higher than round 3.

Cas going out w/ a bang

Last game of the year dont hold anything back

I'm goin to preface this post by sayin I am a current UT student and I've been a Longhorn fan since birth.

But seriously folks, I don't understand this Shipley hate. Clearly people who say he is slow have not seen him play. He runs the best routes out of anyone I saw in college last year. He single handedly torched the Alabama secondary with Garret Gilbert staring him down every throw. That's proof of great route running. He set just about every recieving record for UT because he catches everything.

You can tell the guy is a hard worker. Plus he returns punts and kicks. Sure he doesn't move like Devin Hester, but he is very good with his feet and understands how to get around people. And he holds for field goals.

Essentially he would be replacing Crayton, so I don't see a need for him unless we trade Crayton. It just seems like he is going to transition seemlessly into a slot reciever/return guy. Some team is going to be very happy when they draft him.

Fair points but the man doesnt deserve this much attention. Hes a 4th/5th round prospect and is getting way more attention than the 2nd rounders and some 1st rounders
