Why is it important for some of you to say Murray is the reason the Cowboys had a great offense last year, or the O-line is the reason, or Romo, etc...? Why can't it be a total team accomplishment? Its crazy how some of you fans have to have one individual be the sole reason for the teams great season last year.

The best running game in the league last year led to Romo having a great year. If we have to go back to having Romo throw more we will be in trouble.

Is this person seriously trying to still hold on to his notion that Romo isn't that good? Doesn't it just seem dumb at this point?

I guess if you dig yourself in a hole ya just keep digging.

exactly. I have never understood that mentality, it drives me crazy when I constantly read that thought process.
Of course we are going to loose good players, this is the NFL, all teams have to find a way to endure that process of the game.
The trick is trying to retain the top shelf players that are difficult to replace, and you let the good players go when they have to go that are easier to replace.
When you understand that, it makes it much easier to understand why Murray is no longer a Cowboy, has nothing to do with his talent level, or how much he meant to the success of the offense.

oops, sorry Galian Beast, now Im even contributing to the derailment.

I don't think that, i just think you are only as strong as your weakest link. If you had a very successful oline and run game last year and it made eveything click, then why in the hell would we want to put a mystery back in the backfield?

Last season was not the ONLY great year Romo has had. I believe Romo has had a 3-1 tds-int ratio the last 3 years. One extraordinary season from Murray in a contract year and all of a sudden that's the only the only reason Romo is successful? Balance was the key and we can be even more balanced by not having to feed 1 RB 400 carries.

Good OP by Beast gets totally derailed.
This was another excellent draft Gallian, and when you start stringing together good drafts, its amazing how quickly you can build a championship caliber team.
Got to give Will McClay his props, he has elevated this teams scouting and talent evaluation to elite status.
I still shake my head when I think back to the days of Larry Lacewell, and the horrible draft picks that busted.

Lacewell is my most hated person in all of sports history.

He had too many screw-up to name them all, but the Dwayne Goodrich pick is one that sticks in my mind. Apparently, the Cowboys scouts had Goodrich rated as a late round pick, but Lacewell over-ruled them to draft Goodrich in the 2nd round. He started 1 game in his career at a time when the Cowboys were desperate for CBs.

Simple economics. Murray wanted more money than the Cowboys were willing to pay. It could come back to bite the Cowboys in the butt, but, again, Jerry wasn't going to pay big money to Murray.

Dude I don't care that Murray is gone. I agreed with letting him walk and not over paying him. With that said, I didn't know we weren't going to address the position in FA or the draft.

I think we will end up trading for a quality RB because right now we don't have one.
