Ok, here is another option I just thought about. I know it's kind of like playing fantasy GM before the draft, but it's still a realistic thought.

With Ocho, and Boldin most likely off the market, and even though I'm still with Hostile and think the RW deal get's done. What do you guys think about the possibility of Lee Evans? He is in the final year of his contract as well. I know Buffalo needs receivers, but it's just a thought. Any team can be swayed. If we are looking for a compliment to TO like Jerry says, he would sure fit that mold....talk about a deep threat! Anyway, just another vet WR to keep an eye out for...I'm pretty certain I've heard nobody speak about him. Apparently they have has brief discussions about an extention, but that is about it. Here is a look of his career numbers:

Year G Rec. Yds Y/G Avg. TD
2004 16 48 843 52.7 17.6 9
2005 16 48 743 46.4 15.5 7
2006 16 82 1292 80.8 15.8 8
2007 16 55 849 53.1 15.4 5

Not great, but decent numbers. One of the best deep guys in the NFL. Also, consider that the Bills have not had a QB worth a crap his entire career. Although I do think Edwards is going to be a good one.

Another option to chew on for the next 4 days until we can get this thing going!

better than crayton, not quite as good as glenn (unless he's gone of course) and certainly not a #1. it would depend on the price to be honest. even that i'd rather take my chances in the draft.

I would like him, he has put up decent #'s with poor QBs around him.

But with that being said, Buffalo will re-sign him as they have more than enough room under the cap.

You don't think Lee Evans is a #1?

I think Evans would blow up if he had a QB worth a darn.

But I can't see Buffalo possibly letting him go.

and are looking for wr's anyway as i understand it. doubt they'll let a decent #2 go very easily.

he's been pretty inconsistant overall. all qb? maybe. but after what, 4 years i'd put part of that back on him too. he's a good/decent #2, not sold on #1.

Buffalo is looking to add offensive weapons, not trade away one of the only ones they have.

I would say he is as good as Glenn. Maybe better. He has 29 TDs over 4 years, which is 7.25 per season(1 TD every 8.03 receptions). Glenn has 44 TDs over 12 years, which is 3.67 per season(1 td every 13.48 receptions). Glenn's top season was 7 TDs and three other times with 6. Evans is a good threat.

hmmm have missed start in 4 years glenn starter every game in a season once in his career i would say the makes him better.

You answered your own question.

Pure fantasy land. The fact that the Bills are considering drafting a guy like Devin Thomas at #11 tells you they're in no position to ship away a young, talented wideout like Evans, who may be on the edge of stardom (provided their QB cooperates).

The same can be said for Boldin and we've been discussing him for months.

Forget about Evans. The only reason why Williams and Boldin are mentioned in trade talks is because they have guys on the other side who are or capable of being #1s. If the Bills lose Evans, you'll be asking Roscoe Parrish to be the #1. Not happening.

I couldn't agree more, on all counts.

Evans is the real deal, but his QBs haven't been. When you draft a first round WR, Evans is exactly the kind of guy you hope you are getting.

Buffalo's price (if they listened at all) would be too high.

Those two receivers (and their respective teams) are hardly interchangeable. With Fitzgerald under contract, the Cards would be dealing from a position of strength. In Buffalo, it's Evans and a collection of nobodies. Why would they shed their only proven player at that position for a "what if" like Devin Thomas or any other receiver in this draft?

very good wr......he would bring the speed ....no doubt about that

Agreed, he would be the PERFECT fit across from TO

If he hits FA next year, we should consider trying to sign him. Bills may not want to franchise him given the cost of doing so.

His numbers seem pretty comparable to RW. He is an elite deep threat and we would need a possession receiver to work opposite him.

You can't buy it when its not for sale. And things not for sale cost too much.
