Looking at these coaching salaries, we know Jerry and Stephen not spending these kind of dollars for coaches... they are too cheap.

1. Andy Reid -20M a year
2. Sean Payton-18m a year
3. Mike Tomlin- 16m a year
4. Jim Harbaugh-16m a year
5. Sean McVay- 15m a year
6. Kyle Shanahan- 14m a year
7. John Harbaugh-12m a year
8. Dan Campbell- 11m a year
9. Sean McDermott- 11m a year
10. Mike MacDonald 9 m a year

MM was tied at 4m a year at number 16.
I know, imagine being the most valuable, most cash flow producing so one area you could spend til your heart's content, and nope, we go cheapy.

I've been saying this for about 5 years now, Jerry is Cheap now and Stevie has always been cheap. they will hire a Moore, Johnson or Gleen level HC. give them a 4 - 5 year deal for 2 - 4 million... if they do well he pays them more on second contract... but that way he's got a competent coach (HOPEFULLY) that can keep them relevant to bring in the money w/out spending the bank. MM is going to command closer to 10m based on what he's done here last 5 year with the handicapping he was put in. J&S will not want to spend closer to 10m for a coach that did not bring home the trophy and got them embarrassed a couple time on national TV.

Say Hi to your new Coach Kellen Moore
Johnson aint taking 2-4m contract - he is more sought out than MacDonald who is getting 9 a year. If Johnson came for anything I d be happy. I wouldnt pay MM 10m period. Hell I woudnt re him up for the 4m he is currently making, Id tjake a chance on another coach for cheaper smh and if that was K. Moore, hell I wouldnt even be mad at that.

K. Moore was statically a good OC, he needed to grow bc he wasnt as experienced. He has been to a few places, and he has continued to grow. Who he was under Garrett and MM might not be the same bc you dont run your O the same when you under someone. I dont mind giving him a shot, I am over the old success retreads. Sometimes all dudes need is an opportunity, no different than Campbell who people said was too over the top when he was the interim in Miami. And he figured it out. If KM came and put the right staff together id be more optimistic then seen MM come back for another year .

Just saw Slater on NFLN say that Jerry said that he “won’t overpay for a coach.”

Some of you probably heard that already but I missed it.

I mean, come on here. What exactly does this guy expect, and WHY would you pay a QB SIXTY million a year only to cheap out on scheme and leadership??

Beyond dumb.
Beyond DUMB.

Johnson yeah he might get more but Kellen and Glenn would be less both have history with Jones and are up and coming like they like. Problem is with Kellen who's his d-cordinator going to be && is he going to be calling the plays, hows his game management etc... Glenn is the same thing but for the Defensive side.

Honestly I dont know which way they are going but looking at other thread with number for this year. ONLY belichck could have fixed those Numbers. Vrabil is a Unknown to me

So….you won’t pay for a top coach, won’t use free agency, and won’t change what hasn’t worked for decades?

How is that supposed to come close to adding up? This guy just doesn’t care and has zero problem slapping the fans in the face. “Too bad, I bought it and it’s my toy.”

It's not the low pay that keeps potential head coaches away, it's the lack of power normally attributed to NFL head coaches that the incoming hc will lack. Why would any self respecting coach come to Dallas to kill their future NFL hc career?

Makes sense, Jerrah keeps paying for middling coaches and the results for 3 decades have been exactly that. What you are doing is working Jerrah! Basically Jerrah is saying he will never pay for the type of coach that will steal Jerrah's thunder. He has to be the face down to the jocks and socks.

Honestly, I dont know who KM DC or OC could be, honestly that part of the process - to let him put his staff together and figure it out. I think being on three different staffs, he has been in interview process a few times for HC, he definitely would have a list of candidates. Bill is out of NE bc it wasnt working anymore, there was no Brady, he was given total control and he struggled and ran it in the ground. I dont want Bill, Vrabel was horrible offensively in Tenn. I dont want any one from that era.

And you know MM isn't getting a raise from Jerry.. I wonder if the Jags will swoop in and get him for 5M. We can hire one of the Jones grandkids since coaching is considered overrated in Dallas.

The worlds most valuable sports franchise. Always goes super cheap on the coach staff.

Makes ZERO sense to me. Just one more reason not to listen to anything Jerry says about winning.
The reaon behind it is very simple:

The salary of our coach JJ has to pay from his own pocket.

Salaries for players are payed from the money the league gets from TV contracts etc. Its fix, 42% (or 46% idk for sure) is the part the players get (=salary cap). Rest is for the owners.

So players money doesnt bother owners directly. Coaches money does.

I am a big hockey fan and unfortunately for me I live in the city that the home team is the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL in the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Why do I bring that up?

In recent years the powers that be realized there was no cap on coaching. And they have brought in some very big names.

It doesn't make sense to me either since they are more than happy to spend on their facilities and amenities for everyone including the press corps. Sometimes I wonder if they are pressured into not "setting the market" by other owners who claim it's not fair for Dallas to outspend everyone else.
