This move makes sense with Wilber moving to linebacker and Hatcher showing he's fully returned.

What do we have now? Hatcher, Hayden, Nevis and Irvin on the inside, Ware, Selvie, Brown and Wilson on the outside?

This might be a good pickup, dude had a couple of sacks playing with the Saints................obviously he became expendable when they switched to the 34.

Why was he cut by Oakland, anybody know?

Anything that can generate some pass rush I am all for.

Who the heck is Irvin and what happened to Wynn?

The guy has good size, seems like a 34 mike

He is tall but lanky build. JBell is right to say he is better fit at SAM (or even pass rush specialist), where he can use his 4.4 speed to cover TEs. He is big, fast and a good tackler but he is not physical enough to man the inside and he does not play instinctively.

Love his athleticism and but his neck injury is worrisome.

@toddarcher: Cowboys sign Martez Wilson. Cut Everett Dawkins. Wilson will play DE

DE is probably where Jimmy would have put him too. But it would be interesting to see Wilson at SAM, especially now with the LB corps so thin.

He looks like a Weak-Side DE in Kiffin's scheme.

From the Combine:

Martez Wilson
6-4, 252

DeMarcus Ware
6-4, 251

Chris Clemons (Seattle WDE):
6-3, 236

Say they do put him at WDE behind Ware, is this a move only to get us thru this year ? What is Selvie's hieght/wieght - as I thought it was said his best position would eventually be at WDE. With Crawford coming back next year - dude is huge ! Who will back him up/fight for the starting spot ?

IF the team decides Ware isn't worth it anymore for Marinelli's scheme and parts ways with him, I could see them flipping Selvie to the weakside and using Crawford at SDE.

Not saying he's not a DE, but measurables can be deceiving. Wilson may physically resemble a young Demarcus Ware but his game more resembles Karlos Dansby. If you watch his highlights, he makes the majority of his plays from 2 point stance.

Dansby is a very good rusher for a LB but not as effective as full time DE. Julian Peterson was the same.
