Another Terrible game by the Refs

I agree that it was a terrible game by the refs. But I do not agree that there is Bias against us. There were several holding penalties that we got away with.

this is true for every team in every game. Lichtensteiger got away with over a dozen holds

We got plenty of calls or no calls in our favor. you guys are whining.

Very poorly officiated, no doubt,,, maybe this ref squad was from the "B list" because of the relative unimportance of the game.

The refereeing seems inconsistent across the league. While it does seem we have more than our fair share of poor calls against us I see them every weekend.

I would agree with you. But I see other teams get away with way more stuff then we do and they are consistent with that. If there isn't any bias against us why do other teams get away or get the calls that we don't? I'm just asking for consistently with ALL teams.

If you maul Dez Bryant and don't get flagged for it. Then when we should be able to maul your receivers and not get called for ticky tack fouls as well.

How many times this year has a quick whistle killed us and we have been robbed of plays like the one with Murray yesterday. They should let the play run and then look it over, I am sick of this.

That was the third that I can recall without even trying and, if I recall right, the two others would have been TD's had the play been allowed to go on.

This thread is a joke. While the game was remotely in doubt the Cowboys were getting nearly every call. At one point the Commanders had 50 yards penalties to the Cowboys 10. When it ended the Skins had 101 yards of penalties...twice that of the Cowboys.

If you want to point to bias...If anything...the Boys are getting a little extra help this season.

Agreed. OAK and DAL conspiracy theorist over here but hard to argue with this season. Seems they let off OAK after AL. My only major gripe is that refs don't seem to give Dez the benefit of the doubt as with other star WRs. Almost as if they let it go bc he is so physical but that shouldn't be the case and disservices him (production/opps). All receivers use the subtle arm extension but broadcasters sure love to point out (look for = Buck) when Dez does it for separation.

Yes thats what gets me throughout the entire year. I watch several games where you lay a hand on receivers and flag fly. Yet other teams have been mugging Dez all game long. No flag. Sometimes the flag goes the other way and they call it on Dez. Seriously, it should be stopped now.

Lastly, how bout that call on Witten for holding? When it comes to ticky tack Cowboys NEVER get the benefit of the doubt.

the Dunbar run was really annoying, since it kept the game in moderate doubt and the starters in for another quarter plus

I didn't think there was obvious bias, one way or another. I just thought the officiating was bad, generally. Disrupting the flow of the game with ricky-tacky penalties, the quick whistle, letting a one-sided game with only one team with anything to play for get chippy. They just didn't control the flow of the game very well at all.
Though, to be fair, I think Garrett and Co. stirred some of that up with their on-sides kick. :) WAS was getting ready to pack it in and then that happened and it riled them up a bit. I loved it.

Hate threads like these.
There is no bias, for or against us.

Refs have to know A LOT of rules and have to watch for A LOT of things going on all at once. There isn't a person in the world who could do it without a few mess ups every single week. There isn't a magic group of people or a magic school that could teach current refs to do a better job. Rules could be changed to make things better, and i'm certain there are incompetent refs in the current crews, but overall they do a darn decent job for whats asked of them imo.

During the strike I really didn't believe the replacements were that much worse; more game experience and they could have been on par with these guys. I remember everyone clapping for them when they came back... That didn't last long as everyone was soon reminded how bad the regular crews were also.

Replacements were garbage, made it nearly impossible to watch. Regs aren't that much better, but lesser of two evils.

The holding call on Witten was wrong. The Cowboys agree and have formally asked the NFL to explain it.

For those that think the calls have always been balanced. Great...
Imo this year has been much much better than last year where some nearly identical plays calls went against us both ways. And generally very bad calls against us.

When some on here complain about calls they are accused of whining because we lost. Then when pointed out after a win called classless.

To think refs are above most humans and can't possibly have any bias is naive. Imo.

That's what I said I believe, they weren't much worse than the regular crews just a lot less experience. My point though is that everyone acted as if now that the regular refs were back no more bad calls would be made and they were horrible before the strike.

No it wasn't. read the original post. the OP said that we are getting a bunch of calls against us. it is embarrassing as a fan that this whining happens every single week.

I agree with the poster. Other games I seen inconsistent ref calls.

Dez gets mugged a lot and I so pissed when he scored and the refs called it out of bounds. Was not even that close.

Jerome Boger and his crew are ALWAYS awful. All their games look like this.

And this dude got a Super Bowl a while back.

Okay.

And does that change an early whistle, yet again, on a play that shouldn't have been blown dead?

The correct answer to that is no it does not.

Most of their helmets aren't fitted properly. There is no reason that helmet should have came off on that play. The league wants to do something about head injuries make sure the players are wearing their helmets properly, properly inflated and fitted, with a 4 point chin strap, and proper mouthpieces.

They're supposed to be looser nowadays.
But he didn't even attach a chin strap. It was comical how easy that helmet came off.
