Yep.

I hated Bledsoe and didnt want him signed.

He surprised me and made me eat Crow.

But dang man, if we are going to miss the playoffs what is the point of bringing in so many veterans.

just leaves me...

I couldn't agree with a post more.

Yes, because obviously the plan was for several different kickers to miss several easily made chip shots and to lose a couple of games we had won and then miss the playoffs. That's just the way they drew it up in August.

Hee hee hee... not..

Looking at the trees my friend...take a look at the forrest every now and then.

Im sorry I had high expectations after year three of the conquest...but I am only doing what Parcells said...

"GET YOUR EXPECTATIONS UP", says Parcells.

So I cant be blamed for doing so...

Why is it you guys always talk about the close games we lost but you never mention the close games we were lucky to win? Were those just the way they drew it up in August?

Real funny. I am not talking on a game by game basis. That is the nature of the NFL. It happens. Talk to me about Superbowl. Talk to me about winning streaks, consistency, advancing deep in the playoffs...or...maybe...a Superbowl.

No. You said the Cowboys couldn't contend with the "heavyweights" in the NFL and you are incorrect. Face up to it.

What did you think Parcells would say to the team?

"GET READY FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS OF MEDIOCRITY WHILE WE CLEAR OUT ALL OF THE GARBAGE ACCUMULATED HERE OVER THE PAST 6 OR 7 YEARS!!! YEAAAAAH!!!"

I will fess up. I messed up. I meant contend for something that matters. The Cowboys are not in the playoffs. The Cowboys are not in the Dance with the big boys.

Even if they would have snuck in they were not a real threat.

Bottom line is you know what I meant, but you are grasping at straws because you can not take off your blue and silver glasses.

Nevermind wileedog.

We had a heck of a great season...won ten games...Bledsoe had a nice season and was able to get closer to canton. It didnt matter that we didnt make the playoffs.

Please forgive me.

Why are there all these complaints about bringing in "old" guys withgout offering viable options as to what we should have done?

No wait, I'll answer for you. Because its easier to piss and moan then actually look at reality.

Hey man, I'm disappointed too.

As I've said before my disappointment is not necessarily with this year, but with the time we wasted on stupid projects (QC) in 2003 and in the 2004 offseason (believing the defense was for real). Not to mention multiple failures on the offensive line.

We are a year or two behind schedule, but I think the problems have been idientified and we are going to address as best as we are able.

This is a better team then we have been in a long time. I want to see this plan played out before I start calling for anyone's head.

Who's head did I call for?

Nobody is saying Parcells should be run out of town...but dang...can I at least critique the guy and the season as a whole?

I rarely and I do mean rarely agree with you on anything. :D

However, I do agree with this post. I am in no hurry to run BP out of town. The crux of the problem are the things you mentioned (QC, 2004 offseason, and OL).

We are behind schedule as you say. I guess where I difer with you is that I am not at all pleased with BPs performance due to those shortcomings. I do not give him a pass, eventhough as I already said I do not want him ran out of town.

I knew QC was a waste of time, I was not at all impressed with 2003 defense despite the smoke and mirrors #1 ranking. If I the fan know this and many on the board know this why did BP not act on this?

This team is indeed better than anything fielded in quite a few years, unfortunately not good enough.

You sound like my wife... ;)

I've said this before, but it would have taken some serious brass ones to rip up a defense that was considered by the media at least to be "#1". A lot of people would have ripped Bill a new one for switching to a 3-4 after that season.

That's not an excuse, it needed to be done. BUt that is the reality.

This team is indeed better than anything fielded in quite a few years, unfortunately not good enough.
No, but its nice to think about how much better they are going to be next year for a change, no?

We (hopefully) win 10 games this year. The defense has a ton of rookies who are going to get better, and as they do we are going to move to more complicated schemes and blitzes. Even if we don't add a single player next year, this will be a better team in 2006.

That's a rare feeling in the last decade.

This team is light years ahead of where is way this time last year. Anyone can see that the talent level has really improved. Another fruitful off season like last year and we will be a pretty solid team. From only 6 wins last year to 9 or 10 this year shows improvement and that this season was a success.

I wish the light years ahead reflected in the win/loss column. Right now this team may not win its 10th game, which means Dallas will have improved 3 games over last years record.

In this day and age in the NFL, a 3 game improvement is not a monumental accomplishment.

I promise you for any team that finishes under .500, a 3 game improvement is not that big of an accomplishment.

How can they contend with the heavyweights, when they can't even make the playoffs?

Houston was a blown call away from beating the Bengals in cincy. Does that make them contenders with the heavyweights?

Parchy was trying to be cute, he knows what I meant, and he knows the Cowboys are not ready to contend with the big boys yet too.

Yeah, you are right. They were not able to run with the big dogs, because they did not have the depth to withstand the injuries this year.

But I have to admit, I'm one of those wait until next year fans.

I think this team will be ready to contend next season to win it all. I expect the O-line to be much improved. And I expect the overall depth to be improved also.
