Exactly. I noticed last season a small shift in philosophy, I remember actually reading an article stating the Cowboys took the Seahawks approach to pass defense...push the limit every play knowing what the refs like to call and knowing that the refs aren't going to flag you for DPI every play...or even every drive for that matter.

Yes, the new DB coaching hierarchy was very obvious to me and the results were impressive. Now those coaches have young players to develop from the beginning of their careers instead of having to retrain old dogs.

Jackson was a big pickup and making Eberflus coverage coordinator paid dividends. Maxie deserves credit too. Brown was his pupil.

It's not often that you see a 6th round choice achieving what Anthony Brown did last year. I read earlier that he's likely to become our #1 CB this year and gotta admit, I'll have no real problem with granting it to someone like him. This guy has nice upside.

He's admittedly young but quite deserving, imho. Let's all hope he manages to improve upon last season. I'm inclined to think that he might well succeed in doing so. Second years for CBs normally tend to work out that way. Here's hoping he does just that. The Cowboys really struck gold, apparently, this year in the secondary. Things are really looking good for our DBs in 2017. Expect 'em to improve all year!
Good young DB's :star::starspin::star::starspin::starspin:

Rare indeed.

Hitting on the occasional later round pick makes a huge difference.

getting Dak in the 4th and brown in the 6th in the same draft....going to be very hard to match

Brown is a key player to have continue to emerge and not backtrack. If he stays stable and continues to improve, he is a starting caliber CB that you could pair well with Awuzie and Lewis for the future. I think Scandrick and especially Carroll are probably done after this year.

Had we drafted him in round 2 last year, we would not be disappointed with his production. What he showed a 6th rounder is incredible. Some guys just develop later, or they go to schools that don't showcase their abilities as much.

Actually, to be honest, I would have much of a problem if he stayed the same and didn't get better at all, although I still believe he very likely will. Pro Bowl recognition might be just around the corner at year's end if he can just manage to maintain his learning pace.

After seeing how well he did in year one, it's natural for most of us to expect some further development. His recognition of NFL offenses will be the most likely thing to see him improve in, anticipating what to expect and knowing how to deal with it.

The sky really does seem to be the limit for this kid. He's surely not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill, 6th round pick. That was clear from the start. :)

Ahem -- correction on my first sentence, where I meant to say "I wouldn't have much of a problem, instead of I would have much of a problem if he stayed the same and didn't get better at all. Oops. :confused:

Brown is a total steal and gem and he is a total stud...this along with a healthy scandrick back to his old form and then Chido and Louis and our cb's are much better than last year...now Heath is getting too much bad press...he is a ball hawking safety that hits hard..this along with Jones at Free safety and Woods and Frazier and Blanton and our safeties are better than last year...a good TC and our backfield with all the competition will "mesh" and i Guarantee we have top 10 backfield in NFL

I like Brown. Should be starting this year on the outside.
