Anthony Brown

I wouldn’t be too surprised if Dallas signed him and let Byron go after this season.

He will be much cheaper but, IMO his ability isn’t that far from Jones.
Wait....what????

I've had the same thought before.

They'll re-sign 1 of Jones or Brown but not both.

Awuzie missed the Jaguars game and Brown got the start on the outside in his place.
- I thought Brown was a little better in that game than Awuzie was on average for the season.
- The 7 points by Jax was the lowest of any Cowboys opponent in 2018.
- The 40-7 score was the only true blowout win.

Jones is a perfect fit in the KR scheme.
- His issue is lack of INTs.
- He'll get 18M per from some team even without INTs.
- I don't know if it will be the Cowboys if there are zero INTs in 2019.

Another Fan Boy legend.

He's not a very good corner but I would agree he was solid value for a 6th rounder. He's too grabby and when the refs start flagging him, he gets super cautious and gives up way too many plays. Good athlete, awful technician.

King,

These CBs flat out man most sets of WRs in the NFL. It is largely due the the focus on raw athleticism.

Brown has great foot work and aggression as a slot CB, there ain't many better. A lot of it coming into the NFL. The only thing about him that surprises me from looking at his college tape is that he went in the 6th,.

BTW, I'm looking forward to what Brown and Lewis are going to do to the Pats rub game this year

And lewis played better than both brown and awuzie that game. I wouldn't pay Byron if he has zero-1 int this season. And I hope the cowboys wouldn't.

I was tootin' on the horn of fandom for him,in the last half of his rookie season, when due to necessity ,he was thrust into the fray& turned out admirable service in his duties:starspin:
He’s been a very good pick for where he always taken in the draft. A good player.

IMO , Jourdan Lewis is the most physically gifted corner we have.................I simply don't understand Richards' insistence on someone having to meet his criteria of physical measurables....................Aren't results all that matter ?

Awuzie is bad, just because he's in position a lot doesn't mean he's good if the guy he's covering still catches the ball.

I have concerns about Awuzie. Later in games he looks like he's struggling to maintain his quickness and chasing guys. Hope I'm wrong.

A lot of it depends on Awuzie improving and also whatever Mike Jackson can show this season. You could actually see BOTH Jones and Brown leave via free agency. Then you go with Awuzie, Jackson and Lewis as your top 3 CBs in 2020.

If Dak, Zeke and Cooper are all resigned as expected, I believe CB will be the position that they choose to go with younger and cheaper players. You still have Jaylon in the next year or so to resign...

Can't pay everyone free agent money.

We're paying 4 on the oline big bucks this year. Maybe just 3 next year. But add Zeke, Dak, and Cooper, and I don't see a lot of money to resign defensive players.

I think we're going to have to let Jones follow the cash somewhere else and spend a high draft pick on a CB. Why we can't afford to let our big 3 on offense go. Well maybe Zeke...

That reminds me, unless T-Smith's back has a miraculous recovery and Fredbeard returns to form, we're going to need to allocate more resources into the o-line sooner than later.

Brown's tackling of bigger backs is next to non-existent. He's about the same size of X.Woods but Woods has way more heart.

Big year for Brown. I still worry that he's too grabby in a league just looking to flag defensive backs at will.

But I am with those that say they could let Jones walk and bring back Brown if he has a good year, and especially if they have lobbed huge contracts at Cooper, Elliott and Dak.

Yeah, I know Jones is better but if he’s at $18M and Brown is at $9M (just for example)... then I wouldn’t be surprised if they signed Brown and let Jones go.

Of course Jones is better so I’d rather have him in Dallas, but I don’t know if it’ll happen.
Yeah, you could probably keep Brown and Lewis for the price of Jones.

Lets see. Everyone was a fan of Brown one year and hated him the next. Since time has passed we're now saying to let a first round pick go because suddenly Brown is on the same level.
