Deffinately deserves to be on this team and I dont understand how people could say otherwise. That said, if #35 dosnt come back and we get a veteran CB in free agency and draft another with one of our first rounders, what is the likliness that we could see Henry finally make that move from CB to Safety?

And if so would he play a SS FS or CB? or could he be like a utility DB and help keep everyone fresh including #31 er....#38

I think he's on the team next year because he's a good player at a "need" position. He may not have as prominent of a role though...

I don't think he moves to safety either - maybe more of a nickle corner though.

I'd say the likelihood is exceedingly close to zero.

The most likely scenario is that Hamlin is re-signed and we draft a corner in the first who plays nickel corner until he's ready to take over for Henry, more likely in '09 or beyond than at any point in '08.

He's big enough, but I don't think he tackles well enough to play safety.

Right, Amani Toomer?

Anthony Henry is made of glass and can't stay on the field. Otherwise, decent corner.

why does everyone assume he can play safety...that was him playing two hand touch on amani toomer sunday...and to be honest with you, he has no range....he would not cover much ground at all. he really should be allowed to bump and run because he is terrible in space. he is probably the slowest guy in the secondary

I really like Henry at CB. It just seem slike every offseason the move to safety always seems to get braught up.

Im saying if we get rid of Reeves and bring in a vet and draft a CB. Do you think we could finally see the move in nickle or obvious pass situations to maybe get RW off the field or have him play some LB on those cases. This season proved that against a lot of offenses you need to be able to defend 4 and 5 wideout sets.

People assume he can play safety because he had 10 INTs as a rookie FS if I'm not mistaken.

that, and everyone thinks all older, slower corners would be natural fits at FS

just because they are older and slower CBs

Need to keep him at CB since there's nobody to take his place. He gets targeted a lot, but he can make teams pay since he plays the ball very well (something Reeves doesn't do). He does seem to have injury issues.

YAKUZA

when healthy this guy is great. even hurt he still doesn't get burned like some people :explode:

he was a 4.6 guy coming into the NFL....so that was a long time ago...again, we all would cringe if we knew what his time was in the 40 now.....he would not even get drafted. He needs to be allowed to put his hands on people and re-direct them...play physical...he would be terrible with WRs coming straight at him full speed

I agree. He can't seem to stay on the field for a full season.

CB is an issue.

I like Anthony Henry. A good tackler, has pretty good technique and doesn't get beat deep too often, despite his lack of speed.

The only issue I have ever had is he seems to get banged up fairly often.

If healthy, I believe he is one of the better corners in the NFL, especially against the bigger and more physical receivers.

A guy from NFL films was on fox sports radio yesterday, and talked about the Cowboys' problems. His comment about Henry was that he was a "below average corner". He said the problem with our defense was that the secondary was terrible. He also mentioned that Roy Williams isn't a starting-caliber player.

Can't say I disagree with him on either account.

The talent level between our starters Anthony Henry and Newman and the backups (Reeves and the rest) is way to wide.

We need better backups to replace Reeves and the others.
