How much time did Anthony Henry miss last year when he had an abdominal tear?

Shawn Springs just had a procedure done...apparently he had a small tear there.

Just hope he doesn't miss any regular season games for us.

I know abdominal tears can continue to be nagging for a long time after the fact though. :(

He was injured Against Arizona October 30. He was never the same again. He missed the eagles game two weeks later after a bye and the detroit game.

He came back and played only in the nickel for the rest of the year and was not the same player.

It was a key loss and changed the way our defense played, they had to protect and play 2 deep more.

Henry was never really the same after his injury. It appears to be a tricky injury to heal once the season starts. I would sit Springs down (he doesn't need preseason games) and hope it heals prior to the season. If not, it could be something that nags for awhile.

It wasn't so much the time missed, it was that he rushed back and was never the same again. His man coverage was pretty weak IIRC after that. If Springs takes as much time as he eneds to heal, he should have no problem - but I'm no doctor. :)

Damn. I guess we are going to find out how good Gregg Williams is by how much he's able to mask this...but its a loss regardless.

I don't see him coming back sooner then 6-8 weeks if they want the injury to heal properly.

At this point if we can't get anyone better then Rumph to play CB, I'd wonder if it would be a good move to see what Sean Taylor can do there.

He has the speed and athletic ability, nobody can question that...and I'd rather have the glaring weakness at FS rather then CB.

The best thing is going to be getting a decent pass rush from that front four. That will be a necessiity since Springs won't be there locking down his side close to the LOS.

I have a great idea.

Let's rush Owens back on the field to practice for some worthless preseason contest so he turns out just like Henry last year.

Wouldn't that be a smashing idea?

I think Henry came back too early from the injury and he just wasn't the same.....

I remember in '94 Emmitt was bothered by hamstring issues all season and eventually couldn't finish that NFC Championship game in San Fran because he pulled a hammy.

Bottom line is, as tricky as those things are I feel better with T.O. not practicing at all. Get him healthy for the regular season and a super bowl run. That is why he was brought here. Not for training camp and meaningless preseason games.

Man, the injury bug has really bitten the Skins so far

They better hope Springs doesnt end up like Henry last year, ebcause they are paper thin in the secondary.

I'll go out on a limb and say he won't.

Not that it bothers me or anything.

Henry had a groin pull at first and then they said they later recognized he had an abdominal tear.

There's nothing nagging about an abdominal tear, they are a very painful injury. Put it this way, pro wrestler Mick Foley has probably suffered more injuries than any NFL player alive, and he stated that his worst injury he ever suffered was an abdominal tear. They just take awhile to heal.

Worse yet Springs' tear is on the muscle that attaches to the pubic bone. So everytime he runs later in the season he will feel some pain and risk reinjuring it

im guessing we draft CB with our first pick in next years draft.

Might be wise as Spring was getting up in age as it is.

Best case scenario he missed 4 weeks. But I wouldnt be counting on less than 6

unless we trade our 1st round pick away haha. Maybe for someone like dunta robinson! one can only hope. If if we do draft a CB, Springs would then eventually become our 3rd CB, hopefully making for a sweet nickel back.
