Anthony was on with norm Hitzges.

Ask if MLB was his position now. He said for now, but he must earn it too. It's not given to him.
Norm said on certain plays, the SLB comes out for a 5th DB, does it matter where he lines up.. He said, no, he just wants the opportunity to be on the field to make plays.

Does his versatility hurt him as he can back up all 3 LB spots. No, the more you can do as well as ST's, you have a roster spot. And he wants to contribute.

Norm said he has backed up and started for Lee, McClain, Carter and Durant. He said, he just prepares so when he comes in the games, he can do what is needed no matter what position.

With the D being suspect coming into the draft, did they think they needed to draft defense. he said no, they draft who they thought could help the team the most, and that was Zeke.

Not worried about the pass rush as the coaches will do a good job getting them prepared.

Norm mentioned all the positions Anthony played in high school. He said he was on the field all the time, except on FG's.
He played RB, LB, ST's, PR, KR. Said he even punted a few times.
Norm asked him if he could play any other postion except LB, what would it be. He said back in spring he was asked that, and said QB, but now he takes that back and says RB. Norm said he may need to wait a few years for that now...LOL...Anthony said, well that and he is 45 pounds heavier than in HS, so RB dream is done...LOL...

Well, we are always looking for players at other positions to convert to fullback.

I really don't know why so many are down on Hitchens ..... I like him and think he is a good LB

I don't either. Yes, he didn't have a great year last year but, name any 3 players that did? You have to realize that when you come to this board
you will find many who dislike, are angry, butt-hurt, moaning, groaning, cussing almost every player on the team. They don't like Romo, they don't
like any of the WR's except Dez, they don't like any of the QB's backing up Romo, they don't like any of the DL or LB or CB or safties. Yes, when you come here, just put on your flak jacket and get prepared for HATE!

Thanks for taking the time to recap this for the rest of us, it's much appreciated.

if Lee can stay healthy to orchestrate things pre-snap and Rod takes advantage of the good coverage by defensive backs we should be a lot more aggressive this year and we could be a much better defense

Hitchens may not be an all-pro but not everyone is cut out for that honor. He's a willing and capable, stand-up guy who's a steady performer.

I don't think a lot of people are down on him. But he's really just a JAG. He fills an important role on this team as a flex backer who can fill in any of the positions in a pinch.

Hitchens isn't the most physically gifted guy, but he's a solid, assignment sound linebacker. you could do much worse than to have a guy like him in the lineup.

This. He isn't going to make a lot spectacular plays but he will be consistent and rarely miss assignments.

He's more than just a "JAG." JAGs are at the bottom of the roster and are their spot is always in jeopardy.

I don't think a Jag can learn multiple positions and play them well. He is not a superstar but he is pretty good.

A JAG is someone like Bobby Carpener who is just a body to put in there.

Jimmy J had smaller slower LB's he drafted from his UM team that couldn't cut it, and those that were on the team shouldn't have been.
And Jerry is not making him the starter.
