Brown had a solid rookie season which goes to show that you can find CBs in later rounds of the draft instead of selecting one in the first round and/or signing expense free agents one.

The rule to the exception is if there is cornerback that is on Deion Sanders or Charles Woodson's level.

Looks like we found a starting caliber CB with above average physical traits in the 6th round. This is not an Alan Ball or BW Webb situation. I believe Brown is legit. "Lockdown"? Probably not. Hopefully we're fortunate enough find 2 more starting caliber DBs in this draft.

Not picking on Brown, but it just struck me as funny how we use videos to support what we want to see.

I was thinking of Doug Free and the videos that are out there of the relatively few plays where he just looked flat-out awful. It would be pretty easy to put together a video like this that would make Free look like an all-world blocker.

What that really means is every player has ups and downs. If they didn't, then our team would be undefeated each year and have many more Lombardis on the shelf. It really comes down to trying your best to limit the bad plays. I think Brown did a pretty good job of that last year and hopefully he can build on what he accomplished.

So, um how do we, as fans, evaluate players? In person?

Where was this thread during the season? Appears all the departures we've had in the secondary has elevated Brown's stock. We're 3 months into the offseason and all of a sudden he's become lockdown Brown. lol I like the potential he showed as a rookie especially for being a late round pick but the jury is still out on him and will be for a while.

When Claiborne went down I said to myself welp here we go again. Brown really stepped in and did very well against top wideouts. I really wish he started in place against Green Bay instead of Claiborne in the playoffs. Maybe we wouldn't have been down 21-3

I said during the season that I thought he was the Cowboys best CB in some games.
