Who is most likely to rush the passer from the right side end position?

Mincey is not a rusher...maybe they hope the rush will come from Melton/3-tech?

If and it's a big if Spencer is healthy, I think he has the best speed to come off the edge.

Why would we rotate Selvie, Crawford and Spencer all at LDE?

I think we need to try and put whoever our best pass rusher is at the RDE spot. Whether their natural position is LDE or whatever. At least until Lawrence comes back.

If Spencer was 100% then either he or Selvie would move to RDE.

Mincey does have some rush ability.

I don't think Spencer is really ready. If he is not already practicing, I would rush him. He should stay on the PUP for the first 6 games.

Beginning to think I'd play with Wilber and Carter over there on pure passing downs, one up/one down and play all kinds of games as to who is coming, who is dropping............or both coming.or none coming with a McClain blitz........both can play LB and have some blitz/rush experience.........gotta get Melton one on one up the middle without the LT checking him and a RB or TE being able to handle a non-factor DE.

Agreed. Spencer is far and away the best option at WDE - provided he's healthy and back to 100%. His measurables are much better than Selvies.

Might be someone who isn't on our roster yet.

It's the spot with the highest likelihood of us picking up a contributor at at cut downs, I agree. Hopefully, somebody just tosses out a quality pass rusher for us at the last minute. :)

Yeah, don't count on him to be healthy or back to 100%. No team in the league wanted him for a reason.

~Shame~ Much like most of our Dline.

But it's time to put the realistic evaluations aside. Time to go Blindfaith mode and wish for the best.

Spencer starts game 1. 2 sacks and wreaks havoc.

If Spencer plays at all this year I'll be surprised. There is a reason he didn't get a deal when he hit the market.

All reports are that he is working on the chords. This is typically done when a player is relatively close to returning. He will play this year barring a setback. Now, will he be any good after the surgery? That is the question.

I just have a feeling that we are going to be bringing people in throughout the season (like last year) to rush the passer. I hope not, but I don't see too many people on our roster who can consistently rush the passer.

If he hasn't even practiced yet, they'll slowly bring him back into contact drills. I'm thinking November at the earliest barring any setbacks. This team isn't usually very reliable on their injury reports, I know a lot of it is misinformation to keep opponents on their toes - but I've learned not to hold my breath when Jerry/Jason say a guy is 'almost' there.

Love this idea and would also add Martez Wilson to that rotation as I still think rushing with his hand on the ground is not his strong suite at this time.

I agree they will have to generate a rush from multiple sources and not just depend on the DL. That's both good and not so good though. Love the truck.

I think they are looking hard for someone to play some snaps at WDE. They might have to bring someone in game two or find a bargain before then. There are always surprise cuts. The problem is getting someone to us who is worth renting.
