Anthony Spencer looked better than expected

I'll take that for his 1st game back.
Anyone know how many snaps he was in on?

It was good to see him out there and only expect to see him improve as he gets himself into game shape.

Looked better than I was expecting. Saw where he was credited with three tackles and a qb hit. Welcome back Anthony

I didn't focus on him, but he appeared to be moving around with no problems.

I saw him set the edge perfectly on a couple of running plays and force the ball carrier back inside

He was moving around really well for his first game back. I'd like to see what he can bring when he gets his legs under him.

It was good to see that he got cut down low on a pass rush, and got back up without any issue. He looked like he lacked some burst, and it remains to be seen whether that comes fully back.

We may be getting lucky with a lot of these guys.

McClain looks to be as or good or almost as good as Lee

Spencer came back and looked pretty good. Surprisingly.

We still have Lawrence and Josh Brent as some guys that can help as well.

Help could be on the way for the DL....

Was happy to see Spencer get some reps in real game action. He looked in shape (he looked fat last year) and on a couple of occasions I swear the refs could've thrown a flag...guys holding onto his jersey for dear life.

Glad to see him get out there and get some action. Hopefully he's able to continue to work into the rotation and contribute. He looked good coming off the weak side as well.

He still has a ways to go, you could tell he was being cautious on that knee. Right now he is at the mental aspect of getting to 100% on the knee.

I haven't seen any analysis from anybody that has reviewed his play on tape but he passed the eyeball test out there to me.

As you said he looked in shape and was active out there. He has come a long way and it's good to see his hard work paying off by him getting on the field and contributing.

I think that's what's encouraging to me - he does need more time, but he still looked pretty good.

He will need a few more games. Getting back the physical part and playing in games, as well as the mental part, how he moves, and such as not to worry about the knee.

Then he can just play, react and not have to think about things.

As Al Michaels siad last night, come October [to me, meaning mid to end], then November and into December, Spencer can be a big factor and plus to the defense.

He made one good play when they tried to run to him. Strong at the point, shed the blocker and swallowed the runner. THat's his specialty.

If Carter can't play the strong side, I'd consider some 3-4 looks with Spencer and Wilber.

Hopefully he feels good today and we have no setbacks. Nice to see him out there making plays.
