Anthony Spencer

the model with anthony spencer is... wait for it... greg ellis.

ellis was far from a rush specialist early on but he developed into a quite savvy pass rusher --after most called him a bust-- who also held the point of attack.

spencer does a good job dropping off the line into the flat.

ware has apparently learned that by being good in coverage he'd get asked to cover more so now he looks lost most of the time in coverage, lol.

it truly is a shame ellis has his ovaries flare up so mightily because i think we are one situational pass rusher from outstanding on defense.

Watch Carpenter during the Falcons second TD and you will find exactly what you're talking about. He looked almost afraid of getting his nose dirty.

Carpenter is the sole reason for that huge run by Snellings in the 3rd. He took a brutal angle, and didn't so much as even try to turn him inside. I don't care if Carpenter's afraid to hit, at least take the proper angle and at least try an arm tackle to turn him inside or slow him down. He just got sucked up into the offensive line like he was playing DT. Horrendous.

The only way to really get better is to make mistakes and learn. By year's end he will be doing a fine job here.

I didn't notice him too much against Atlanta I gotta say. Not that I'm critical of him, I also think he's been improving.

Right now I would just as soon see Brooking stay in on 3rd downs. When he has had to drop into coverage he has shown he can still do the job. Plus he is more aggressive when coming on the blitz

I think the guy is coming along fine. He was disruptive in the backfield. He needs to work on his angles when in pursuit. I think both him and Ware will be a serious threat in the not too distant future.
