Anthony Spencer

I still have hope for Spencer that he can be productive on the other side of Ware.

even better though is that Butler is forcing more playing time by making plays. His recognition on the screen was excellent and he made the big play to sack Eli and cause him to lose the ball on that bad snap. If Butler can be that third end to rotate with Ware and Spencer than that is a good thing to have.

Not a lot of teams have two double digit sack guys on the outside. I have been one of those people who like the way Spencer plays and would love to see him become that 10 to 14 sack a year guy across from Ware, but it's looking more and more like it's never going to happen.

Then again, with a different d-coordinator who did different things up front, he could be that guy. There are so many variables. All I know is Spencer is a good football player, and good enough to play at the spot he plays for us.

Vic Butler could very well push him for his job, but that's a good thing. It just means another guy could be playing well enough to start.

Spencer is very good against the run, but the jury is still WAY out on his pass rushing skills. Thought he was getting it together late last year, but he seems to have regressed.
