Antivir Solution Pro

I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus that I bought from Best Buy and it won't let **** it.

I have no idea. I know there are some anti-virus companies from India that are actually malware.

Do a system restore to a previous date when you didn't have it.

I had it and that sucker doesn't play.

You can't open ANY applications.

Man, I got that a few days ago. I had to go into Safe Mode and download AdAware free version to eventually get rid of it. I don't remember the exact steps, but it took some doing. Pain in the *** and I have no idea how I got it.

I got this about a month ago - really think it came from malware bytes

I never had gotten it before I installed MB

I think I got mine while visiting a nautical themed warez site. I'm guessing it's because I didn't stay on top of the Windows security updates.

this is the one that claims its an AV program but isnt't, right? Restore might help but you have to remove that from your computer or it will get out sooner or later. I have had this happen to both my laptop and desktop and since I do not have the time to do it by myself I had to use the Geek Squad and it ain't cheap.

I had an epic battle with variations of that virus. It's some tough **** to get rid of. I can't even remember all the crap I did to get rid of it.

It locked my from using programs, locked me out of my registry. I eventually was able to get rid of it enough to get into my registry and delete it manually. Took alot of work and is not something I recommend as messing with the registry cawn fawk your computer.

When in doubt, reformat.

I decided not to download anything else and just cleaned it out using malwarebytes. So how do I restore?

Bout time.

Go to safe mode. Then go to Applications, system tools, system restore.

Then just manually select a restore point and click on a date before that mess took over your computer.

I got it uploading an lolcats picture.

I hate now that forums require you to save pictures in order to post them.

I have no idea how something like that isn't illegal. Your company installs malware on my computer, tells me that I'm infected with a virus that only your product can fix, prevents me from going to websites to fix the malware that you installed, and if I DO get your product to fix it, it ONLY fixes what you installed.

So do you still have the virus?

Naw. Malware took it off. I went to restore and brought my computer back to 8/5/10.

My computer seems to be running fine. I don't think it messed up the registry too much.
