Well, with the Charges parting ways with Gates, if Witten retires, who is on board with bringing him in as a stop gate for a year or two? I certainly think it adds a dimension to our offense we lack with the retiring Witten. I don't anticipate him to come particularly expensive after only starting 4 games last year.

You know, if it comes to that Julius Thomas is still available and can actually still play a little! To be honest I'd rather they over pay Martellus to come out of retirement!

Kellen Winslow II is available and no team cares. He was supposed to the play in the Spring League a few weeks ago. I don't know if he actually did or not. He participated in the SL last year. He isn't worth signing for any franchise.

Gates is 2 years older than Witten. I don't think getting older at the position is a good move.

Witten had a more productive season than Gates had last year. He’s playing with one of the most productive QBs in the league in Philip Rivers. Gates is going to be 38 years old in June. No thanks!
