In 2016 Linny was the guy and he actually changed it up quite a bit to help the rookie QB. It worked. That’s what they have to do again offensively. (With a strong RB of course). Dak’s rookie season was his best passer rating of his career.
They over protected him. Basically what you are seeing with Purdy. They were dominate up front, Zeke was lightening fast. That why to this day it was a mistake not putting in the guy who was an elite passer back into the starting lineup.

Hard for me to care about any of this kind of stuff knowing Dak’s contract will never allow us to compete for titles.
I have resigned myself to this reality as long as the starting QB remains the same.
As such, most all posts I won't even consider responding to any more until there is a change.
Maybe a smarta** remark every now and then.
No GM, HC, play caller or supporting cast can fix this QB.

The bottom line:
Cowboy QB purgatory is real.
And ongoing.

George Edwards being let go made zero sense to me.
Skip Pete? I didn't realize he was responsible for Zeke being wore down while Pollard has an all pro year.

You lose your starting RT your center for a few games your left guard for a few you never had 77 for most of the season yet the # 1 pick far outplayed the Giants tackle drafted much higher . And Joe Philbin is fired

Now Robert Prince first year receivers coach I believe had a connection with KM prior to hire had a 3rd round pick collect dust never contribute . CD had great year made his case as a legit # 1 but overall mixed results out of the group .

Peete presided over a 1000 yd Pollard he’s kicked to the curb . It’s curious who stays who goes . George Edwards credited with working with 11 he’s history . Anyone thrilled with Fassel ? Probably need strong Maher competition in camp let’s see .

I went back and watched a condensed version of the division game with GB and man did Zeke look awesome and fast. Dez was awesome too. We had Witt, Schultz, and Jarwin. Beas, Twill, Gallup, and Dez. Lots of weapons….defense was awful though!

How about this for a idea.. Bring in Eric Bieniemy.. Offer him Assistant Head Coach/ OC job and a whole bunch of cash..
Is he going bring Andy Reid with him to design the offense and call the plays

I just hope they bring somebody in from the outside. Knowing this FO, they'll look to just promote somebody from within, but if we are going to go a different direction it needs to be a fresh direction.

Whoever the Cowboys hire it won’t take long for fans to fall out of favor with them. They might like some of the hires initially, but as soon as we lose a game or two they’ll be calling for their heads. Lol It wasn’t that long ago when most fans were calling Kellen Moore a genius and wanting him as the Cowboys next HC. Now the majority of the fans want him out of here.

Yeah, that offense is all Reid. Bienemy is just doing what Andy tells him to. That is the real reason nobody has hired Bienemy yet.

Everybody in the media keeps wondering why nobody is hiring him away for head coach, but the NFL knows that Reid is the real architect of that offense. An offense with Eric but no Andy or Mahomes won’t look anything like that KC offense.

Maybe, but I'm willing to give him a try over returning to Kellen. Don't know how it would turn out but at least it would be attempting to do something different and get away from the Garrett influences on our offense.

Thrilled with Bones ? i am ..

- Think Bones has been the best special teams coach since the late Joe Avezzano, imo

- Bones stock went three notches up when we re-vamp him to stop those fake puntts and sneaks ...and he settled down to fundamentals.
Upon Bones arrival i had never seen as many blocked punts from a unit - even with Avezzano.
Coincedentally we did not as spectacular a year in block punts this year.

- Maher's problems was Maher himself ..not Bones.
When that starts happening to FG kickers mentality, they are done .. ala Chap Bailey.
Maher was on his way to a helluva productive year ...until the final Wash game and playoffs ..

- Turpin went to the pro bowl ,,, pollard got turned around from mediocre to great KO returner
before he end special teams for a bigger role in offense
.

I haven’t totally given up on Maher . Any guy who bangs in two 60 yarders like he did against the Vikings deserves to come back to camp and compete.

That's how i'd like to have it with McCarthy and play calling .if i comes down to that ..

- .It's Andy Reid's offense ..but Bienenemy is the X's and O's caller in according to Reid

- It was Sean Payton's offense but Pete McMichaels was the X's and O's play caller.. in according to Sean Payton.

- It was McCarthy's offense in GB, .but his longtime buddy Joe Philibin was the X's and O's play caller in according to McCarthy

- McCarthy should Not being BOTH play calling and head coaching ... That's how Jerry screwed up both Garrett and Wade in forcing them to do both roles

They won 13 games.
Yea, I don't get it. Not saying I don't think we need a change at OC. But I always hear about how the opposing defense knows what plays we're going to run, but somehow they can't seem to stop it. Weird.

Yeah but Bienemy isn’t the only guy to get if you don’t bring back Moore. There are better guys to bring in, IMO.

I don’t know that Bienemy would fail but guys typically don’t fare well without Andy.

By letting Philbin/Peete walk, it suggests fixing their run game could be their priority. Also, there is little to no chance, they head into next season also without adding another high-end receiver. MM has a wealth of play calling experience, along with being a former QB coach. It appears Jerry forced Moore on him and he didn't want a power struggle. That OL coach from Carolina is probably the favorite the land the job, whomever they hire for the OC will not become the play caller. What would be the biggest shocker to me, is they hire an outside OC to run the offense.
I'd find that strange that it is left up to Philibin and the OC has no say or control of it. Kellen has vast more control of the offense than even McCarthy
yet Kellen has no hand in it's run game design ?

So when the RBs have had such difficulty being productive and involved in the pass game - is that on Philibin and Peete .. and not Kellen ?
i love the RB involved scheme with run game and pass game with McCarthy than Kellen.
