I'm not a fan of the cookie monster style. My favorite metal genre is symphonic metal with female operatic style singing like Nightwish and Epica.

I remember being partial to Venom.

I’m not the biggest BM fan, but I occasionally listen to it. I like some atmospheric BM, I like Mayhem’s first record.

The Mantle by Agalloch is a stellar atmospheric black metal record



More of a doom metal, thrash metal, and old school death metal fan myself.
