He wasn't always that bad....

yea 2005 was a very exciting year, game wise, we were in it everygame, we got blown out once, though we didnt make it to the playoffs, it def. wasnt as annoying watch that team go 9-7 compared to last years team. Drew had some pretty good games

That was one of many awesome finishes that year. It akk started in the come from behind win in San Diego! Some great performances by Drew when our defense was giving up all those points.

The fatal flaw with Drew is that he can't be protected. He's been hit SO many times, he's basically just waiting for it on every play. His mechanics go to poop because after taking that many hits, he's rushing his reads and throws. Basically his pocket presence got left somewhere around 1999, and there's just no way to protect him anymore.

If you could give him time (which is basically impossible unless you have All Pro's at every position on the line) He could tear you apart still. But it's not a perfect world sadly.

Still have not heard any Bledsoe rumors yet...

Anyone heard of what teams are looking at him??
The only QB news that I have seen so far is Plummer's retirement, Ramsey being waived by the Jets, and Jeff Garcia is wanted everywhere. He's going to have a hard time finding a team where he can start. I am thinking he too will probably retire if he doesn't come back here. I doubt he'd come back here.

Bledsoe hit Witten for a TD earlier in the game on a great throw and good route by Witten. The winning TD was the pass to a wide open, easy pitch and catch to Campbell.

Garcia looks to be going to Tampa.

that is not the play I am talking about. Do you honestly believe I think that 5 yard toss to campbell was one of the best throws I have ever seen?

Its the witten play in the 2nd quarter that was awesome.

My hard drive that I had all of last years brad sham 05 clips and highlights on crashed in october and died and I dont have them anymore or I would put up the play for you.

Tek has the clip on www.cowboysvids.com though.

theebs, you need to burn those files off to a DVD so that you don't lose those valuable clips...

Remember, always have some backups...

yeah I have everything backed up. I just happened to never move that brad sham 05 highlight clips folder on my old second drive to an external. I have 5 externals with backups and stuff.

Somehow I never by accident backed up that one folder...!!

I also was halfway through my terry glenn video I had been working on. I had every single one of his catches as a cowboy in a folder and was making a highlight vid...I now have to start over!!! real kick in the pants.

I was one who supported Bledsoe coming here in 05 but admittedly with some concern. He played well for us & won several games in the last quarter; his OL protection wasn't great but is accuracy was on the money. I expectedly similar play from him in 06 but that didn't happen.

In opening game against the Jags we had legit chance to beat them and indeed dominated particularly in the first quarter but still held the lead at half time. But Bledsoe went cold in that 2nd quarter and remained there the rest of the game. He consistently missed wild open receivers and both Jones/Parcells commented that even good QBs like Bledsoe are allowed an off game and that was the Jag game.

Unfortunately he continued to miss open receivers and even tho we won next 2 games he certainly never performed to the level he did in 05--at least in my opinion. He showed he was able to beat the poor teams with decent numbers but against the good teams he was just consistently off; yes the OL protection wasn't great but even when he had the time he again missed WRs when they were open. Frankly, I thought Parcells should have benched him after the Eagles game since we'd be off the next week which would allow Romo to benefit from taking all the snaps in practice. Unfortunatley Parcells waited until half time against the Giants (when Bledsoe again not playing well) to make the change.

Why I Quit the Cowboys: By Drew Bledsoe

Hi everybody. Drew Bledsoe here. I wanted to make an announcement before the rumors start to get out of hand: Today I have decided to part ways with the Dallas Cowboys.

It feels so good to write my first blog post as a free agent! I feel like a swinging bachelor again No cares… no concerns… no worries. True Story: Earlier today, I got home and my son ran towards me to give me a hug. I just shoved him out of the way, grabbed a Burger outta the fridge, and left the house again. Can you possibly fathom how liberating that felt?!

t’s only been 12 hours since I marched into Jerry’s office and demand he cut me, but it feels like a lifetime. I’ve even stopped cutting my hair and shaving (which I normally do twice a day.) The freedom I am feeling right now… it’s… indescribable. It’s like eating a Burger for the first time after taking a day off Burgers.

So how did it happen? Well, you’ll hear many things on SportsCenter tonight. Stuff like “This was a salary cap decision.” That’s not true. What do I care if the Cowboys are over the salary cap? That’s not my problem. That had nothing to do with why I demanded to get cut.

I quit the Cowboys because a future Hall of Famer has no place on the bench. I quit because there aren’t enough Burgers in the world to hire me as Tony Homo’s mentor and coach — not with only 15-20 years left on this arm.

You should have seen this meeting you guys. It was a little sad. I mean, have you ever seen a billionaire beg before? There he was, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys literally getting down on his hands and knees, trembling before me, pleading that I stay for one more season.

I told him straight up: thanks but no thanks. I explained I had a date with Destiny (that’s my wife’s nickname) and no time left in my busy day to wipe tears off my shoes.

That’s when it got really sad — He lunged at my ankle and held on, hoping to act as a human anchor.

I told him, “Jerry, get up.”

“No!” he replied, “Not until you promise to stay.”

“Jerry, you’re scratching my shoes you Botoxed piece of ****. Get up!”

“NO!!! Please!!! How would you like a ten pound Burger! With a bun made out of ground beef?”

“You mean another one?”

“I’m so sorry Drew! I fired that idiot Parcells for starting Homo. I made a huge mistake! I admit that!”

Then I stared at him. Knowing that my next words would be the last he would ever hear me say, I decided to pick them wisely.

“Go **** Yourself, Dick-Bag.”

I kicked him into the wall and power-walked out of his office. Out of his life. Out of the Cowboys. I was a free man. And I felt good.

So what’s next for me?

As of now, I’m enjoying the time off. I’ve taken up several hobbies since I became a free agent this afternoon. I can now sail. I’m a PADI certified SCUBA instructor. And most recently, I’ve been acknowledged as a fifth degree level dungeon master at D&D. I’m also taking painting classes.

I know the time will soon come for me to look at the grand all-you-can-eat buffet containing the other 31 teams in the league and make my decision. But as of now I’m not trying to think about it.

Obviously, certain teams need me more than others. The Patriots would be a great fit, and a natural next step for me. The Colts, another team who is certainly high on my radar just because they posess everything needed to win a SuperBowl. I just feel the pieces are in place to make a championship run.

I mean, you could make a case for any team. But for now, I’m just enjoying single life, you know? It feels good to be back!

Anyway, my thirty minutes at this internet cafe are almost up, I just wanted to check in, clear the air, and let everybody know Drew Bledsoe is still kicking ***!

And if anybody has a couch I can crash on, I’ll gladly autograph it or whatever in the morning. I just… please. Please I need this. Dont… give up on me.

Cool.
