?????????Carr is gone as well as Mo (more $$ elsewhere) after this season, so Brown may be a starter next year.

Carr already took a big paycut. He went from making 9m this year to 6m.Carr is not a bad player, he is a solid CB in this league...........problem is that we are paying him top 5 money like he is Norman
Carr is a free agent I believe at the end of the season, so he either take a big paycutt to remain in Dallas or he goes elsewhere. My guess is that this season will be his last wearing the star.
Am I missing something? What has Carr done to be considered the "weakest link? This secondary as far as this year goes is fine and Carr is performing up to his contract if not greater. People are always so quick to replace someone. Carr has been fine this year. This whole secondary has. The defenisve line and linebackers? Those are the true weak links.
.
I wouldn't be so quick to assume Mo is gone. He's not getting 100 million lol. Or even Josh Norman. He's going to get a nice contract that the Cowboys should be able to give.
We need a corner badly imo.
The guys we have are playing solid but that is a position we need some youth at.
Also weakest asset in cap value as well. He gives up that 10 yard sideline pattern like its planned. Was hoping that the Claiborne phenom would rub off on him.He is our weakest link in the secondary. If I was an opponent I would go his way on any and all third downs. Since there is 0 chance he comes back after this season is there any chance that we see Scandrick and or Anthony Brown replace him?
My wish list for the offseason for the defense:
- A legit pass rushing DE.
- Resign Claiborne
- Find a better SS
- Find a CB opposite Claiborne
- Another DT for depth
- Go to church every day starting now and pray that Jaylon Smith's nerve starts firing
I wouldn't say he's performing up to his contract. He's the 11th highest paid CB in this league. He's not even a Top 20 CB.
He's been solid, adequate. But he's not a guy I think we would even consider bringing back next year unless he took a huge pay cut.
I would not count on Gregory and hope we'll know about Jaylon soon enough. Can live with the present safeties and CB's right now. What I would like is to load up on LB's and DLine in the draft and/or FA if there is value. Heck these days you draft 3 DE's or/and DT's and expect 1 to make an impact, 1 to go down to injury and 1 to hopefully make the team as a backup. There are just no guarantees. If 2 of 3 make an impact all the better. I think you go all out on defense in this draft. That is the way you compete deep in the playoffs.Yep...
As long as we keep winning I don't think we'll get a legit talent at defensive end so corner is probably going to be our best bet.
The only way we get a stud DE is if we go up in the draft imo. I'm projecting a pick in the 20's of course.
If JAylon Smith returns to health and Gregory gets lined out then we could have a really quick defensive turn around imo but it's more hope than anything.

Yeah, I don't get it either.
Carr isn't playing like Regis in his prime or anything, but he doesn't look like Jacques Reeves either.
?????????
Carr has been solid, and his contract runs through 2017. The Cowboys can void that of course, but if they can't get a deal done with Mo, then you better keep Carr so you don't have to use multiple picks in the the early rounds and can concentrate on the front 7.
