Any chance Crawford moves outside?

That's not what I said.

It's a matter of getting our best four on the field. IF the combo of Collins a the 3 and TC at LDE is better than the combo of TC at the 3 and anyone else at LDE, then go for it. I don't expect that to happen, but Crawford can play the LDE well enough to make it a consideration.

As for Collins, I have no idea what he'll be.

Neither do you.

I know he's a rookie who will miss a considerable part of his rookie training camp. And therefore I know he's not going to tear up the league anytime soon.

And the quotes I used were your words, so that is what you said.

I doubt they'll attempt to utilize Crawford at DE unless the rest of the youngsters fail in their efforts to find success on the outside. Tyrone has proven most effective using his strength as a DT in the past, moreso than any quickness and speed he can muster to apply pressure. He'll likely be merely a last resort to be tried on the edge. His effectiveness has been insufficient there in the past, whereas the youngsters should rightfully be afforded their chances first and foremost to implement their speed.

Not quite… You took it out of context. What I said was "IF Collins can become a formidable 3-tech..." The omission of that simple two-letter word changes The meaning of my comment. The change implies that I expected to happen, instead of simply being open to the possibility.

Why move him outside when he already sucked outside. He became a better player in the interior line. Leave him alone. Let the rest of those scrubs step up their games! Or sign Dwight Freeney!

I think Game 1 starts like this

Irving at the 5
Thornton at the 1
Crawford at the 3
Russell at the 7

The other crawford could beat out Irving.
Tapper, Russell and Mayo will have a nice camp battle for the 7 spot.

McClain might beat out Thornton

Broaddus tweet a couple days ago said he would see time outside.

I think it really depends on how well Collins does. If Collins shows he is capable of being a starter, and no one outside does, Crawford could move outside every now and then.

They're pretty happy with Jack Crawford subbing at the 3, too.

Still don't think they move T Crawford anyway. They're going to play the DEs they've got in a rotation and hopefully leave the interior DL alone.

I agree with the 1 and 3. I think Irving or Russell at the 5 until week 5, but I am hoping for Mayo and Freeney (and maybe Taper) to man the 7.
