We all know what Jerry said, but with all the players coming out and supporting Wade this week is there any chance Jerry will keep Wade even if we dont make the playoffs???

Personally, I think Wade has to get to the playoffs and win 1 game. Doesnt matter if we are a division winner or a wildcard, we have to win 1 game, period.

At this point, I really cannot say no because I think Jerry Jones likes the current arrangement and I believe Jerry Jones could come up with some valid strong reasons for keeping him here, mainly his Regular Season record.

However, I think the potential backlash from the fans would play a role in Jerry Jones' decision.

Jerry didn't have a good reason for keeping Wade on this season ...he doesn't need one. I agree that the heat on Jerry will be intense if Wade fails to deliver his first playoff victory.

Not the one word no but the two word no.

Hell no.

He'll be fired sooner than you can say it. I'm not certain even a playoff victory will do it. My guess is the CC game is necessary at least.

I think Wade's gotta make the playoffs and the team has to win a game or two for him to have any chance of being back. Even then its probably a long shot.

If they dont make the playoffs at all, I think Jones will bring in someone from outside to be HC (probably Shanahan).

I think Jerry Jones likes Wade alot and will try to keep him here, even if the Cowboys collapse, but fan and media backlash would be so bad, he would have no choice but to let him go.

It's real simple my man....

No playoff victory or NFC Champ=Wade wont be retained for next season. (his contract is up anyways)

I like Wade. But I like Garrett alot too. Garrett will be our next Head Coach if Wade is fired.

IF Garrett is the next HC, I will throw up. Ginger is consistently making huge mistakes as OC. I don't think anyone would argue that he's not using our talent properly.

His job description would only get tougher as HC. Ivy league doesn't work in the NFL. Time to send him packing.

To the original question.

I would think that Jerry would have exercised the option in Wade's contract by now if he planned to bring Wade back without obtaining a playoff slot.

In my opinion I think it will take alot of success in the postseason to ensure Wade's return.I think the question that Jerry and Co. have to ask themselves is this.Do we have complete faith in Wade to make a championship run? If their answer is no,I don't think he should return.

Another wildcard that could enter into the decision is who is available.

Holmgren I think goes back to Seattle or winds up in Cleveland.

Shanahan doesn't intrigue me in the least.

Cowher is beyond overrated.

If Wade is gone after the season i'm still intrigued by Garrett.Alot of folks think he's the devil himself but I'd rather go with a potential up and comer than the has been.Actually i'd be open to any candidate that isn't a retread.

Too much talent for this team to miss playoffs again.

No playoffs = No Wade

Mark my words....

If Wade is not retained for 2010....

Jason Garrett will be our next head coach. I do like Garrett, I thinks hes one of the best offensive coordinators and coaching/football/evaluating is in his blood.
