Any film gurus look at N. Wright?

Haven’t heard how he graded out. Hopeful he may be turning a corner.

Several receptions by Smith and I think at least one of Goedert's (where Wright was called for interference) were against his coverage. Some of the same stuff we saw in the preseason where he stays with the receiver fairly well but still gives up the catch was on display, but he also had a couple where his receiver was easily open. We didn't see the mental mistakes that we saw with Joseph, but physically, I just don't think he can get out of his breaks quickly enough to make plays on the ball.

Think we might be better off with Alexander playing the nickel spot and keeping Bland outside than we are with Bland moving inside in the nickel and Wright coming in to play the outside. I only remember Alexander giving up one catch, and the coverage was pretty decent, making it a tight window throw.

I haven’t studied him yet, but I can still tell you that he did better than Joseph, who was just awful against the Jags.

I did notice a couple of times where his crazy length caused some problems for the receiver. However, like someone already mentioned, his change of direction, while good for a guy his height, still isn’t good for an NFL corner.

His height causes issues for the offense but his lateral burst and finding the ball hurts him.

I may try to watch him tomorrow, but after watching the game live, at first blush I’d say he did only ok but is much better than Bossman.

He was pffs second highest graded defender. People want to be right on here and hope they aren't proven wrong though so........yeah
Don’t get me wrong Bland is playing well and forces turnovers but he was getting smoked in coverage by Philadelphia. I blame the pass rush more then anything but just because some of you all don’t like the Wright pick you don’t give the young man any credit.

I think that’s a fair assessment. I know the coaches were hoping Joseph would realize his potential, because he has the same if not more physical gifts than any of our other corners, but you can never win with stupid players. I think that’s what Jerry has never realized. Should have just cut him after the gangbanger thing and moved on and took the hit. It would have given us time to be more prepared for this. Nashon Wright is just a semi-steady backup.

The CBs were playing way too soft. I mean, noone is going to run with Devonta Smith if you don't get hands on him near the line of scrimmage.

yea bland had his bad moments for sure but he’s also going up against one of the better receiving groups in the league

I can’t find anything with detail but 8 tackles, 1 TFL and 2 PBUs.

If I had to guess he graded out average as the whole secondary seemed to have gotten roasted.

On a positive, probably better than Joseph and the Eagles have 2 studs at WR.

He had 38 snaps Saturday so there’s plenty of tape on him.

- Wright played a good amount of nickel,.. with Bland going from outside to inside nickel at times.
Seems like we gave up some zone and off the line cushion in not trying to let Eagles WRs get behind us (save Diggs' huge gain vs AJ Brown)

- He actually had a sideline breakup to prevent a first down and given that he has so little game experience, he had a very decent game.
He did not kill us the way Joseph did. But KJ started and played considerably more than Wright.

- Gave up a big completion to Devontae Smith over the middle - both Eagles WRs had over 100+ yds, so it's not like we shut down the WRs.
This game and overall positive grade was huge for his confidence ..and the coaches confidence in him.

He did a great job fighting off blockers on the edge and making tackles in the running game.
