Any film gurus look at N. Wright?

Agree with Joseph. He clearly has raw skill but I kept waiting for the light bulb to go off. It didn't and likely never will.

Wright? Yeah, he's a 4th CB on a good team, at best. Diggs, Lewis and Bland are likely back and you can likely count on. Brown is a FA. After that, we need to revamp the CB room. Frankly, if Bland is your nickle/slot guy next year, Lewis could be cut and save $5 million against the cap.
Let Wright prove what he is "at best". Yall were already wrong saying Joseph was better. Maybe quiet down sit back and watch now

The way I look at it is the Eagles backup QB threw for 355 yards so someone had to be giving up catches. Diggs had an awful game. Someone said he was playing through the flu, which explains why he was bad against the Eagles. It doesn't explain why he was bad against the Jags. When I watched the game a few times I noticed Diggs was looking in the backfield a lot and when he did, the Eagles receiver would make a move and get open. This is something Diggs needs to work on. But it wasn't just Diggs.

Bland and Wright had their fair share of blown coverages too. But the entire secondary was playing too loose IMO. Minshew was throwing a lot of quick passes to open receivers. If the Cowboys continue to play soft coverage like that Brady is going to carve them up. If teams are going to throw quick passes to beat the pass rush, then the defense needs to play more press to take away the quick passes and make the QB hold it or throw it away.

Wright does not get sticky when receivers make their cuts. He gave up the last pass completion from Minshew to Smith down to the Cowboys 19 yard line. Smith beat Wright when he cut to the inside, then he high pointed the ball, which could have and should have been knocked away but Wright was too far away to make the play. The last two weeks the Cowboys have been too soft on those final drives.

But Wright also made a couple of heads up plays.

I am not sold on Wright or Joseph though. The results speak for themselves and 355 yards in the air is not getting it done. It seems the Cowboys will need to find a CB in the off season either in the draft or free agency. They also need a DT and a DE.

Hah. Wright flashed a few times during the game. I actually rewound a couple plays because I was as shocked he made them. He stands out too because he is so tall and lanky. It was by far his best game. He still will never be fluid enough to be a starter but a depth guy that can play a little safety- he has a lot of value. Definitely a riser.

Diggs is a good player and ball hawk but he is far from a shut down CB.

Just the eyeball test but even when he came in at Jax he looked like a way more confident CB than Boss. Having said that Boss can play ST’s with the best of them so at least he’s not a total bust.

All I know is that I’m a patient fan and always want to give players chances to improve… but I am almost done with Joseph… and that has zero to do with anything off the field.

It has everything to do with dumb on field decision making, and zero awareness of situational football. Either he is too thick headed to learn, hasn’t put in the effort, or has a learning disability… no matter which it is, I don’t want him on the field at all down the stretch.

If anyone has paid attention to how I post, they’ll know this is really unusual for me. I rarely get to this point with a player and even if I do, I don’t vocalize it on here. But this dude is 100% a liability and he needs to be in the sidelines.

I would be willing to give him one more training camp to show something, but if he’s not way improved by about August 15th, he would be off of my team.

I agree with all of this. I wouldn't cut him until next August though (unless off field issues arise). I think he is very good on ST and could be Goodwin's replacement. Probably not as good as Goodwin on ST but a better CB than Goodwin.

Haven’t heard how he graded out. Hopeful he may be turning a corner.

He played better than Trevon Diggs.

However, he doesn't have the speed and quickness to keep up with most receivers in the NFL. He plays the run quite well and had a critical stop on 3rd down.

I find it funny that they have bad mouthed Wright from day 1 and now here we are and he is getting a chance and seems to be holding his own so far.

They in shambles because they watched preseason and couldn't tell he outplayed joseph. Spend so much time watching dallas and don't know what they're seeing so they get mad at the player for proving them wrong
