Just looking at available FA’s that could help and his name sticks out.

I know he’s a hit of a knucklehead, but at a reasonable rate anyone interested?

I know it sounds ridiculous but you don’t have a spot for him right now. Your outside spots are covered. Unless he’s open to taking a lesser role I doubt peters has any interest in Dallas.

You’d have to gamble on him being as good as a full time slot corner, which you have a decent one already on the roster, or you ask him to be a rotational corner. If I’m peters I’m waiting on a better opportunity to open up.

He's the kind of signing you make during the season after losing a starter for the year. Otherwise, he's taking major needed snaps from younger players.

Don't think he'd play for what we'd be offering.
He is still good but is declining.
However, assuming we don't get a CB in the draft, and he (or someone like him) was willing to play on a 1 year prove it deal at a low number, why wouldn't you sign him and move on from Lewis. Cutting Lewis saves 5 mil, and if you could sign a better player for a lot less, why not?

Big name player. Not big time production. More than likely wants bigger dollars than the Cowboys will offer.

He gets beat a lot trying to bait qbs. He gets. Few but gets best more than most.

His market value is around 9-10M, not something the Cowboys consider in FA. Even if it was half that, still not something the Cowboys consider in FA.

No need to pay another 32 year old CB with Diggs coming due for a contract and a draft where CB is one of the deeper positions.

because it’s not? and requires multiple bodies and signings are typically for more than one year.
Cowboys will fill the final spot or 2 with some combo of a rookie, Wright, or Joseph. You're not signing a veteran like Peters to play special teams.
