DallasCowboys.com says Wade's normal PC is at 3:00. None of our potential re-signings are big enough to have its own press conference.

Ok guys - listening to the Lunch Break on the Cowboys web site. The free agent discussion has come up, and they confirm - that yes the extension is going to happen, but they don't know who or when. They speculated all the names we have done so here.
What is surprising to me, was they brought up the Barber's name. Not in the way I thought! Very surprising. They brought up the possibility that the Cowboy's might dangle Restricted Free Agent Barber to another team, but it would cost that team a 1st and a third draft pick. Why not dangle him out there right now for a first and third(or better) and see if there are takers. Of course they can't actually do this till after the season. Both said that yes, they would make that deal right now. Hmm they are talking about it again now, and they say we might be able to get 2 first rounders for Barber.

??signing today?? or just rumor of?
Why would Jerry Jones hold a press conference to announce him extending his GM contract with a huge raise? :D

Barber is important to this team.

More than stats. Romo, witten, barber, hurd, gurode, crayton, burnett and tnew are guys that seem to really like each other and play for each other.

I dont think you can really measure barber's worth to this team. He really is the fire on the offense.

I think we need to bring in a veteran backup and draft a rb who can step right in and produce.

but by no means would I trade or consider trading barber.

They are crazy. Any team that would give up two firsts for Barber should fire the whole front office and the league should force the owner to sell the franchise. I would take the 1st and 3rd for Barber in a heartbeat. I love Barber, but that would be too good a deal to pass up.

why?
you never know what you are getting with the draft, we have a proven commodity in barber and risking it would idiotic. Draft picks only matter if they pan out...

No it wouldn't. Given that Julius is as good as gone, that leaves the need to bring in 2 RBs this offseason.

No thanks.

No way any team would give up 2 1sts for Barber.

I love Barber and want to buy his jersey as soon as we lock him up long term, but no way is he worth 2 1st rounders.

I wonder if Marion Barber could fetch 2 1st round picks?

If true, I wonder if this would increase the chances of Julius Jones reaming with the team.

This year's RB draft class appears farily deep and good.

I really don't see anyone giving two 1st rounders for Barber.

Do you guys seriously think someone would give up 2 1sts for Barber? Are you seriously saying you would give up two 1sts for him if you were GM for another team? People on this forum debate whether trading both our 1sts to Miami to draft McFadden is worth it.

Julius has nothing to do with my comments. I agree he is as good as gone. You can sign someone like Turner who is an UFA and not give up any draft picks.

It boils down to this. Would you rather go into next years draft with 2 1sts and Barber or 3 1sts and an extra 3rd? With those kinds of picks you could get any player you want in the draft. But if you think there is no one better in the draft than MBIII, then you are entitled to your opinion.

Me? I'd go for the 1st and 3rd.

So you wouldn't trade Barber to Miami for the first overall pick this year and Miami's first round pick next year? I'm not saying they'd do it, in fact there's no way they'd do it, but if Miami offered that deal you wouldn't take it?

I am really hoping your username has nothing to do with the ESPN radio guy.

I'm trying to stay in the realm of reality here. Sure, I'd do that deal but I'd also trade him for 15 #1's as well:rolleyes:

This thread could have ended right here. I couldn't agree more with you on both points.

In fact, this is the exact reason Micheal Turner won't command huge money in FA as well. Just too many good backs coming out. THis is the deepest RB class I've ever seen.

Thanks for the update but Cowboy Nation would be very upset if the Barbarian got traded.
