This may be the deal they are talking about!

Crayton's deal could be next

Tim MacMahon
You might have read or heard rumors that Patrick Crayton could sign with Miami once he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Don't lose any sleep over that, since Crayton isn't exactly a Bill Parcells fan.

Plus, odds are that Crayton will never become an unrestricted free agent.

Superstar columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor mentioned earlier this week that the Cowboys are negotiating a long-term deal with Crayton's agent that would include a signing bonus of at least $5.5 million.

Crayton said today that the deal would hopefully be done pretty soon.

"This is exactly where I want to be," the DeSoto native said.

I'm trying to stay in the realm of reality here. Sure, I'd do that deal but I'd also trade him for 15 #1's as well:rolleyes:

Agreed, but didn't someone earlier say they wouldn't trade Barber for two firsts in the context of Miami wanting Barber? I thought it was an earlier post, if not, disregard.

And no, my screen name has nothing to do with ESPN. They've been on ignore on my TV and radio for a long, long, time.

Marion Barber is really good, BUT his style of play doesn't equate to very many years of play at a high level. His punishing style of running doesn't just punish opponents, but his own body as well. There will come a time when his body screams to him...ENOUGH! Then he'll be forced to be a little less aggressive. A little less aggressive with Barber = becoming a second tier back at best.

It might take a year or three depending on the number of carrys he gets per season, but he will not be the same back pretty quickly. If someone offered us a #1 and #3 we would be stupid not to eagerly take that while the taking is good.

I love Barber, but I equate his play with Roy Williams. Roy has been a big hitter for years but lately has not been doing so. Why? I'm thinking his body finally told him enough is enough and he just physically can't take it anymore. Barber will become the same way and posters will be wondering "What happened to the Barbarian?" in a couple years.

I keep reading Crayton is not a Parcells fan,but when he was asked
maybe a couple of weeks ago who got him,he said Bill Parcells came
and got me.He sounded like he was maybe proud of that,i don't know.
I wouldn't be so sure to think he couldn't go to Miami.
