I don’t see lb being taken early by us. I was hoping for muma or Harris in round 2 but Harris may jump back into round 1

And if the board looks pretty thin at #24 and Lloyd/Dean were sitting there, it would make you think. One of those areas where your OL depth could get jumped and if DE also looks thin, you've got some decisions to make especially if you can't trade down.

If Gallup is expected to be ready by TC, then Cox should be also.

Which means both will start TC on PUP.
It is what this team does.
No doubt Gallup will start on PUP and miss games
They said as much
But haven’t heard anything on Cox
Can’t remember exactly when he went down

I could see this stupid team taking a lesser DE than an awesome LB because that’s what they do.

not a chance in the first. Doubt 2nd. With wr being one of our strengths and pass catchers overall that seems more wishful thinking on your part.
Not wishful thinking at all, I would prefer OL or DL.

I do not see WR as a strength at this point, especially to start the season. Cooper and Wilson are gone, Lamb hasn't proven himself as a 1 and Gallup will not be ready to start the season and will take time to get back into game shape. Brown and Fehoko?

There are some ?'s about this QB being able to raise the game of the WR's.

Then there is the owner who thinks he's outsmarting the others saying they plan to take an OL unless a Lamb or Parsons falls to them. There is no self-respecting GM in the NFL that Booger can outsmart.

Cant really count on anyone coming off that kind of an injury.
An ACL tear?
Its rather routine and hasnt been career threatening injury for years now.
No need to worry about JCs knee.

why is that a bad thing? Oline is our biggest need. We better hope they take one in the first. I’d be happy with another one in the 2nd.
Unless they trade up for a true blue chipper OL, you are saying do not take the BPA but go for an OL? And again in the 2nd, just in case they miss with the 1st?

Roy, there are two people that will not be in that war room, you and Rich Dalrymple.

Lamb has 100% proven to be a #1 and already is. You dont use a first round pick on a need for 3 or 4 games. Washington replaces Wilson and is an upgrade. Shultz is the #2 pass catcher in this offense and is returning. Nothing to worry about other than the first few games. If the Cowboys are smart they will utilize Pollard more in the passing game in the slot and out of the backfield. Other young guys can easily step up and fill the #4 WR position or a guy in the 3rd or 4th rounds.

The simple fact is that we played pretty much the entire year without Gallup last year. So really Gallup replaces Cooper. And we get another 20 million in cap relief. Great payoff. Money will be used where its needed.

Career threatening is something you made up while arguing with yourself.

He looked so promising in the off-season last year, I think he's considered a big part of their plans this year.
Guess we'll see.

He had that one goal line play in his cup of coffee during the season but that play answered a lot of questions I had about his toughness and tackling.

Based on Neal not being re-signed, I'd say we're counting on him in that role. Maybe that'll change, but we clearly don't consider LVE a coverage linebacker and that's what Cox was known for in college.

It's ancient thinking. ACL reconstruction has seen mostly full recoveries for the past 30 years at least.

Achilles injuries being career ending is old school thinking. Doomcasting ACL recovery is just stupid.
There is no doomcasting, being realistic. If Gallup is ready to go Game 1 it would be a very impressive feat. He tore his knee up in what late december.

ACLs aren’t the big deal they used to be. Plenty of guys come back to regular form after that injury
No one doubts recovery, Cox probably has the best shot between him and gallup to be full go by game 1.

According to Stephen, Jabril Cox is ready to romp and stomp. Of course, sales pitches are in
effect at this time of year! Here's hoping such a boast precedes a LB draft choice also!
