Dowdle has a lot of incentive to heal quickly. Not much separation between Dowdle and Davis. Dowdle was better in preseason and has been running well so far. The difference between practice squad and roster is about $500K.

If Davis gets a chance and balls out, Dowdle may have to go to the practice squad. Such is the life of those at the churn roster level.
Davis is not going to “ball out” against anyone let alone SF

We have a HUGE problem if Dowdle cant go because Pollard and Vaughn wont cut it and it will put even morr pressure on Dak which will lead to disaster

I just hope we don't have a repeat of last year when Pollard went down and they were afraid to use any other back besides Zeke. He played every single snap from that moment forward. Gotta use the other guys and keep them fresh.

Well, I didn’t know the SF defense was the Bears’ famous defense reincarnated. Listening to you, I guess the Cowboys should just forfeit and not even show up. No injuries that way.

Nice crystal ball of disaster you have.

MRI scheduled today. Has had a hip injury in the recent past.

Folks can dismiss his value but in terms of what we currently have on the roster, beyond Pollard, he’s better than everyone else.
Rico plays like a downroster player should. Downhill. Makes for more injuries, but you can make up for lack of metrics and talent with extra effort.

I've liked what I've seen and hope he can stay healthy.

I think we did go light on the spend for RB. When Rojo wasn't panning out, I expected them to find another veteran to take his place instead of relying on Rico/Malik.

On the bright side, I'm hoping this gives Luepke more of a role. I like two back sets.

Just throwing this out there, let's assume Dowdle misses Sunday.

Could the Cowboys do worse then re-signing Ronald Jones at least for just this week? He was here all offseason and camp, knows the system, and it a lot more experienced than Malik Davis. I like Davis, just not sure Dallas trusts him (remember the playoffs last year at SF).

Agreed. And if we're worried about pass protection- a Dowdle strength- nothing wrong with lining a tight end up in the backfield to give Dak that extra split second.

This the game Dak has to earn his money. This is the game Dak has to play big. Regardless of who the RB is, Dak has to step up. It sucks for Dak that he won’t have all his horses but if he’s the player he says he is then it’s go time.

We can have Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders as RBs but if Dak plays bad we’ll lose. On the flip side we can have Duece and Tony and Dak can win. It depends on which Dak shows up. I see us winning this game if Dak plays very well.

He went out, then I saw him on the sidelines in street clothes. Does Hunter get more carries? Does Malik Davis get called up if he can't go?? Please give your thoughts
i only heard Dowdle is not ruled out...which is better than last year with his hip??

We’re definitely going to need Martin. I was actually relieved to see him go out early against the Pats because I didn’t want to risk further injury. I think Martin will play and play well on Sunday.
