IF we win tomorrow of course. I'm tempted, I'm only about 5 hours away. I have NEVER even come close to considering going to a game @ Philthy, cause I aint trying to go to jail and/or hospital OR get my vehicle trashed by their uncivilized fans.

But man, first time going to the NFC Championship game in 27 years? I was 12 and took these seasons for granted, If I'd only known smh.....

I have always wanted to visit for the history and cheesesteaks also......Im gonna have alot of pondering to do if we manage to beat SF.
You're getting a lot of advice from a number of people whose idea of traveling is going to the Piggly Wiggly in the next town over from them. At one time I lived not terribly far from Phil and would go occasionally. If you are going to make a weekend of it, it actually is a great city - history, great food, museums, etc. Reading terminal market is a must see. It's just like any other city in that you have to be aware of where you are going. And use common sense and don't get all decked out in Cowboys gear for the game as you are just asking for trouble if you do.

One other quick story. I went to London last year and wanted to see a couple soccer games as that is such a big part of the culture there. I made a point of going to one game where the fan base was know for being more rough around the edges than your average fan base. I went and it was a great experience. I felt like I saw a slice of life I wouldn't otherwise get to see. And of course the whole 'fear factor' aspect of the experience was totally overblown. Don't live in a bubble like a lot of these people - go experience it. Just don't be an idiot and rub your Cowboys fandom in their faces.

I was close to pulling the trigger to bringing my 5yo son to the game in Santa Clara but didn’t want to have him miss his first basketball game.

I’ve been looking at flights for Phili and they are cheap.

I get that it’s a **** place to be, but if I go and take him to Philly, I’ll be in our company suite at their stadium. Even with that safe environment, would you still not bring a 5yo there?

I actually appreciate anyone with thoughts on this.
In a word no
You still have to get from your car to the suite and back.
They don't care that the kids 5 years old if he has cowboy gear on they'll hang him from a parking meter and throw batteries at him.

Also good luck expecting any cops to help you with anything if you have cowboy gear on

Waiting to see if my very good friend is getting the company box. If so, I’m flying up from Florida and going.

Advice for peeps going: DO NOT go into north Philly, west Philly, or K&A section—Kensington. It is the largest open air heroin market on the east coast. The mayor, D.A., and chief of police are all woke and do not prosecute crime. This is not a joke.

Historic districts are safe. Rittenhouse Square and surrounding area is food heaven. Penns Landing is good, visit the USS Olympia, the last ship of its type left in the world (Spanish-American War). If you want to look across the River and see a massive ship, it is the USS New Jersey. Great visit. You must drive through part of Camden. DO NOT leave the marked signs that give directions. Art museum is nice. Don’t be a ****** and run up the art museum steps like Rocky. Yes, visitors do it all the time.

I wouldn’t recommend it. That place is scary. The fans are lunatics. I had to leave at halftime because people were threatening to stab me. Dec 2014. They take it to another level and are insane.

If you don't believe what he's saying, just YouTube Kensington....

I live 20 minutes from the stadium used to go to the old vet when I was younger and TVs were much smaller.
In my mind there is absolutely no reason to put yourself through that type of torture when you can watch it in the comfort of your home on a 60-in television.

Those people's hate for the Cowboys cannot be measured only experienced and take my word for it it's a useless unnecessary experience and can be painful

Philadelphia has plenty to do outside of football, some cultural spots downtown, and is a historic part of American history. The challenges that would occur with a child at a football game will happen at any stadium in the country.

This.

Traveling is a lifeskill, learning to blend into one's environment and not look like a mark is also a life skill and is how you protect yourself. If you travel like a tourist, you're a mark whether you are in a football stadium or at a bus station. If you go into this stadium acting like you don't belong or doing stuff to incite people you will not be able to enjoy the game.

I live in S Jersey and the city isn't as bad as people say. Great food city, lots of early America history. The new pork sandwiches with broccoli rabe are amazing but I wouldn't go to the stadium and cheer loudly and act obnoxious. There are many Cowboy fans in Philly and the Linc is much MUCH better than the old Vet but... if you go there hooting and hollering you're looking for trouble. Especially if it's the later game (more time to drink). Philly is a great city but has some tough areas. Staying downtown is fine with a lot of history. It's the surrounding neighborhoods that are bad.

Philly is a great city, the eagle fans are terrible especially the ones from Delaware county aka Delco.Delco deranged derelicts.

You will be fine, just don’t look for trouble and be polite. Buy good seats, cheaper seats attract the riffraff.
I’ll be in a suite. My only concern is walking and walking out. Getting to the car.

Prolly fine but I’ve just heard the stories for so long.

By “blending in”, he means be as drunk, loud and stupid as you can possibly be.
Yes. It's a win-win situation.

You either blend in and go unnoticed, OR, if they find out ur a cowboys fan and beat the ever living poo out of you, you'll already be completely drunk so it won't hurt as bad.

Yeah the trip to and from car...."The Walk" is where it gets dicey.

You will 100% get cascaded with hundreds of chants of "Azzzzzzz. Whooole" over and over if they know ur a cowboy fan. Occasionally a thrown beer. Most will be 20 year old punks, who have been drinking since the night b4, and they will kind of follow you in the parking lot a bit, talking shyte to you in ur personal space, laughing AT you(not with you),, hoping you'll take the bait. Don't....unless you want to get into a legit street fight with 10 guys at once.

OR, just make ur life a 1000 times easier, and don't wear cowboy stuff until u get safely in the suit, and then remove it again when leaving.

Absolutely zero chance.
And I live in PA.

It’s disappointing how grown men can act like friggin animals over a sports/entertainment event.
Like, at the end of the day it’s just a game.

The folks who go to a game and end up in some sort of drunken altercation/fistfight really need to sit back and reevaluate themselves.
