some of you should take a look at the thread "first impressive jaylon video"
it shows video of jaylon jumping up and down and the Fuzzy's slow motion video (page 8) showing the dynamics of a person jumping rope. it is the most clear evidence that his footdrop condition is at least recovered to a great extent...

With the latest video including the trampoline jumping 'test', it appears to be real tangible evidence on some level of recovery on the foot drop.

Here is a 'plot' of the results so far - just for bragging rights:
1 Injured/cut - bodi, pjthedoors, rkell87, marionbarberthe4th, section444, baz, jimnabby
1.5 - tm119
2 Backup - starboyz83
2.5 - chrisinarizona, gimmetheball!
2.75 - LocimusPrime (eats too much butter)
3 Starter - cowboyblue22, rockdoc, theherd, superboy1986,
3.25 - theranchsucks, ghst187
3.5 - joshjwp, cowboysyankslakers, mcompact, ghostofpelleur, hardhittin'witten, tyle1doe, michaelwinicki, dboy3141, FuzzyLumpkins
3.75 - ka0ik, dantanna
4 - Marginal Probowl - wavingmonkey, gmoney112, iamliko22, waldoputty, howboutdemcowboys31, shaketiller, eric_h, mahoney_bill, beast_from_east, trouty
4.5 -sdcowboy85, daillest88, davida
5 Solid Probowl - bigdogcowboy, rat2k8, bluestar, robjay04
6 Generational - rgv_clos, scotman, gameover, xwalker (made joke?), phildadon86, dallasdw00ds0n, the_h0wey, irvin88_4life, cowboyswillrise, plasticman

statistically, the bell curve is still centered around 3.75 (3.5 and 4 are ~tied with 9 and 10 votes respectively), though there are good-sized peaks on both extremes of the bell curve which is highly unusual statistically...
curve has also 2 large peaks at the 2 extremes due to fans' excitement (10 votes for generational player) and the slow decay on the other end due to continuing disbelief (7 votes for injury/cut)...

unclear answers from: t-ro, stilltheguru88, mrtxstar, ccboy, maverick84, ksadler1, viman96, reddyuta, cowboys22, haleyrules, jerryrage

I dont know how to do a poll.
Do I just marked everyone in the big post right above your post.
I list the people on the line with their rating - will add your entry after a couple more people put in bet...

I think he plays like RoMac in '14: awesome at points, but won't give us 16 games at a high level...

He'll be a starter but he's no Sean Lee. He won't even be a motivated Romac. I know it's hard to say this but the dude is a physical specimen and a great prospect. Doesn't mean he's 100% and it won't mean he's going to light up the league his 1st year.

I go with starter ..average player.

I wouldn't be making any bold bets on Smith's performance in 2017 based off a video of him jumping and doing drills. You have to remember he hasn't played football in a long time and missed his entire rookie season rehabbing an injury that he's still rehabbing. He missed everything OTA's, mini camps and training camp in 2016 so he'll be starting from scratch this year. By the time the 2017 preseason starts it will be a year and 7 months since Smith played in a game. Most rookies are only 7 months removed from their last football game but its been a long time for Smith. Any player who's coming off a serious injury has to get their confidence back of playing again and he'll be making a huge jump in the level of competition he'll be facing. Even if he returns to the form he had in college it's still going to take time for him to transition from the college game to the NFL game.

Even had he not sustained a serious injury he's still making a big jump in competition and missing his entire rookie year rehabbing an injury has set him back. Those of you who are expecting big things from him immediately are probably going to end up disappointed. I haven't come to any conclusions on Smith nor have I made any predictions and if some want to follow me around twisting my comments go ahead but be prepared to provide my quotes. lol It's going to be one step at a time with him and the first step is to get him in pads on the field. The Cowboys will likely bring him along slow to allow him to learn the game and to regain his confidence of playing football again.

1 Injured/cut

Well, injured, not cut. That's my bet until there's a clear statement that the nerve has healed.
kinda hard to predict what a guy is gonna do till we see if he is even going to be able to play
I'll be pretty happy if the kid can be a key contributor by the end of next season

Put me down for Solid Probowler. And let's be honest, if not for the doubts about the injury, he'd have been as close to a "sure thing" as you can get. Guys at that size just don't move like that.

Jaylin has it all, and will have the benefit of playing next to Sean Lee for a few years. He has the instincts, he's fast, and man can he lay the wood!

I'd love to say generational but - well by definition they only come once per generation ;) and that's an enormous bar to cross...
