has anyone heard anything? I know Bruce said he was fine but I'd feel much better if someone heard something from the training staff....I know Mo is gone but I'm concerned about Carter.

Garrett said in the presser today that he has a strained quad and is day to day.

I'm expecting 3-4 weeks. Hopefully they move Durant to SLB and bring Hitchens in on the weak side.

Hope he comes back soon. He was really playing well. It seems it takes him two seasons to catch onto a defense. He didn't play well his first season in the 3 - 4 and played great the next season. Then we switched to the 4 - 3 and he struggled again last year only to really play well his second season in the Kiffin/Marinelli system. I am hoping for great things from him since I suspect Marinelli will be our DC for a long time (perhaps become our Jim Johnson / Dick LeBeau type who just stays with a team for ages coaching great defense!!!!).

3-8 weeks best guess. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope so too, but that's a pretty realistic situation given past similar injuries to previous players.
Darn. Oh well- other teams have injuries too.

The breadth and depth of every season involves absorbing injuries and that goes for every team.

I just hate the fact that it seemingly focuses on a particular group on the team rather than be spread and absorbed more evenly.

I hope they learned their lesson when they ruined Barber and force the man to sit and heal, even if it's 6-8 weeks. Barber kept trying to play and tore a hole in his quad, once that happened he was never the same....

I would love to have Marinelli stay for a long, long time- if for nothing else, but to give this D a true and consistent identity which makes drafting and FA that much easier to identify and build with.

And then Sean Lee can start his second career when Marinelli retires.
After learning everything he can about the position like he does everything else.

I think Lee will make an excellent coach one day. If the guy could just stay healthy he is like having a coach on the field.

MIckey on Talking Cowboys said that Bruce could barely walk down the hall.................................sounds like multiple games he is going to miss.

Just based on my experience with pro hockey and high school FB players.

I think Michael Irvin played with a quad injury. It wasn't going to heal, but it wasn't going to get worse either.
Give it a few days, see how it responds. Hope for the best.
