Any updates on Jourdan Lewis?

Any updates on him? Do they expect him to be back at training camp full strength? Diggs, Gilmour, Bland, Lewis is a good group of corners. Add the safety’s in and this is the best secondary the Cowboys have seen since the early to mid 90’s.
This defense has the potential to be top 3 in the league this year.

Haven’t seen anything on him but in general appears about 6 months recovery so if he’s on track he should be ready for training camp

Heard it wasn’t looking good. Believe it was broaddus that said he either had a second procedure or was going to have a second procedure

They would save 5.8M by cutting him.

Bland is the starting Nickel CB now.

If anybody challenges Lewis for the 4th CB spot, they'll go with the younger, cheaper player if it's close.

Only 2 of Lewis, Joseph and Wright make the roster, IMO.

Last spot goes to the draft pick.

The savings is nice but only if they use it if they cut him. I guess they will wait to see what happens at camp and if he’s able to compete. Forgot about Wright, hopefully he improves this year.

Wright and Joseph going into year 3.
- If they can't win the 4th CB role then they might not be worth keeping other than Joseph on ST.
- I would try Joseph inside (slot).
- Mukuamu was the 3rd CB in the playoffs.

Rumor that they might flip Mukuamu and Wright this year.
- Mukuamu at CB.
- Wright at Safety.

I’m not putting any stock into Joseph. Every opportunity he has had he has failed miserably. It would be a big 180 if he end up being decent let alone good. I don’t see him lasting this camp.

Yep, as I said he needs to win the 4th CB role.
- He might end up staying as an ST player because he is top 2 on ST per the ST coach.
- Joseph might want to go to another team because most Cowboys fans hate him for silly reasons.

Yep. The team will basically be looking for any reason to shed his salary considering his placement on the depth chart. For now, he's good insurance in case one of the top 3 guys are injured in training camp/preseason.

Yep, I'm curious to see if anybody steps up to challenge him for the 4th CB spot.

Appears he will definitely be behind the 8 ball coming off an injury....and Bland probably will be taking his job. But he will be needed for depth. So hope he recovers quickly and can contribute to the defense. I agree this defense has great potential with DQ at the helm.

There is a possibility that none of the 3 make the final 53.

I don't see any evidence to suggest Jourdan Lewis won't be ready for the mandatory mini-camp (June). He was playing golf this week so can't be a mile off.

We could definitely cut Jourdan Lewis for the cap/roster spot but I don't see a need to make that decision until we cut down to the 53 in September unless someone floats us a trade deal.

With what we dealt with at the end of the season we need to keep Lewis for depth. If anyone should be bounced it's Wright and Joesph.

What silly reasons are you referring to? You believe he is a good corner and has shown promise?

Agree. Wright is worthless, and Joesph is as well as a CB. Lewis all depends upon his recovery. Even at that I think he can be replaced.
But once Brown and Lewis were out, the defense took a step back.
Joseph may be saved by his ST's play. But do they wanted carry 2 players, in Joseph and Goodwin for ST's only, plus a 3rd in Turpin. Roster spots are too valuable to do that.

If Lewis struggles in TC, if he is not on PUP. My bet he will be. It is what the team does. Steele and Lewis will start tC on PUP.

Look for Brown to be signed if his recovery is ahead of Lewis. This is where the CB, Scott, they drafted can step up and show why they traded up for him.
