LOL, I always wondered what his teammates thought of all the finger pointing.

It's okay to do that behind closed doors while breaking down the game tape or something, but ol' Biscuit would try to point out teammates during nationally televised prime-time games.

The days of the 1 dimensional in the box safety are long gone ... unfortunately, the Cowboys and the Roy fans were about 2-3 years late to the party.

He'll probably have to accept a 1 year vet minimum contract, and I don't think he enjoys football enough to do it if he's not being well compensated for it. He'll probably go into the ministry or something.

you should have seen him last year, he would get left behind in coverage, receiver would catch a 1st down, and Henry would be jumping up and down, flailing his arms

Roy, Henry and Hamlin did that alot last year
I was fun to watch... if you weren't a Cowboys fan...

I wonder if Oakland wouldn't be a possible landing spot. Al Davis seems to have made a committment to youth, but a couple of veterans here and there for leadership helps those young guys. Oakland runs the scheme RW demands to boot.

I am still wondering how a "Top 5" safety gets cut by his own team but then no league-wide feeding frenzy starts to sign him.

Maybe the "stats guys" on this board, who continually told the objective ones amongst us we were all wrong about Roy, need to get in contact with a few teams and show them how ignorant they are to not sign Roy.

:lmao: Oh man, that is sad, but true!! I thought this guy was going to be a monster for years to come, but too many teams caught up with his crappy coverage skills....

The collapse of Roy's career was shocking and sudden. It's amazing that a guy with his resume and relatively limited injury history can be this unwanted around the league. You'd think a sub-30-year-old guy with four or five Pro Bowls to his name would be wanted.

Again, it just underscores how rapid his decline was. And really, I still don't get why it happened.

Four years ago, he looked like he was destined to be a Ring of Honor type; maybe even easily our best safety ever.

Three years ago, he looked like he had an off-year.

Two years ago, he looked vastly overrated.

Last year, completely irrelevant, even when healthy.

that's it! Roy was the bad luck guy. he was the symbol for our late season collapses. he was to the boys as Nomar Garciaparra was to the Redsox. oh yeah i'm cheered up now after everybody talking about our "brutal" schedule.

My guess is he lost the desire. If I had millions of dollars, I'd think twice about going through that grueling work schedule.

I remember an interview awhile back where he basically thought that his health was at risk because of his style of play. I think those hits actually hurt him more in the long-run and he simply just did not want to do that anymore.

Still doesnt explain the fact that he can't cover and takes bad angles, always has, hence the reason to horsecollar.

Be careful, you don't want to upset the Roy apologist into creating another 50 page thread on why it is a proven fact that Roy can actually cover and that the phrase, "he can't cover" is an untrue myth that needs a bustin' through means of stats and image stills of actual games.
