Anybody heard any updates on his rehab lately?

Last I heard.he was still having trouble extending the elbow.

You would think with rehab, cortizone shots and anti-inflamatories and going on 4 weeks+ we would be hearing something.

Is he attending meetings and has he been see at the Star at all?

I really think he will be important once he returns.

I for one would like to see him and Zee playing out of the same backfield.

Would be sort of when he and Felix Jones played in Arkansas..

could be a very dynamic Duo.

Info or thoughts?

The longer he's out, the more likely I think we'll end up moving on. I just don't see where he's going to fit other than just hanging around on the bench until a RB gets hurt. I'm not sure that's the best use of a roster spot.

He is on the non football injury list right? That puts him out for the first six weeks I believe.

He claimed to be healthy right before the start of the season-- and then he was placed on NFI-- which I would imagine he is not very happy about.

He had a solid year last year, would be nice to trade him for some DL or LB help.

Understood.

I for one just don'the think you pass on a guy who made 1,000+ yards last year and caught some good passes and made yardage for you.

Morris was cut from the Commanders for much less.

Would be a mistake on the roster spots to prefer some 3rd string DE Marinelli isn't even playing or a second string FB over DMac.

Just my opinion.

That's possible, too.

Hate to lose him.

If Zeke goes down for any reason..

I don't know if Morris and Dunbar would really turn the screws like DMAC and Morris might.

McFadden doesn't bring anything special to the table that we don't already have. He isn't special, doesn't score, ageing and can't stay healthy.

Zeke, Morris, Jackson and Dunbar can get the job done. Hell Morris and Zeke both have 2 rushing TDs in 3 games. Dunbar has 1 carry for a TD. Mcfadden scored 3 all year. Randle had 3 in 1 game.

Don't understand the love fest for McFadden

It seems fairly obvious to me that where McFadden is concerned, the Cowboys want to eat their cake and have it too. By that, I mean to say sure, they could opt to trade him, although what they'd get in return likely wouldn't be what it's worth in their eyes to retain him. I think one doctor has already stated a while back that he's functionally at about 97%. Maybe so. With that being the case, what about the trade possibilities?

Could they get a DE who holds promise in such a prospective trade to offer them the promise of having a worthwhile pass rush. Obviously, they don't feel like that's the case, otherwise, as badly as they need a prolific pass rusher, it wouldn't make sense to hang onto DMC as they are.

In any event, that's what I'm getting from the evidence that now seems to be on the table. Is it written in stone? Certainly not. Perhaps the passage of time and events will change their minds on the matter but for now, the team is content to bide their time. Stay tuned for further developments.

Personally, if the injury bug hits our running back position, I would rather see Jackson out there.

McFadden is a fine player, he just reminds me of the worst season of my adult life.

Good point, robjay. Jackson is someone that I favor as much as DMC also and maybe even more. Could this be overkill on the part of the FO? H-m-m, perhaps so. They're like a rich old man who doesn't want to part with his stash of gold in a secret hiding place. Kinda nuts, actually. ;)

It could be overkill but both McFadden and Dunbar are free agents next season so it's forward thinking.

It's at least that and possibly more. I think McFadden is possibly headed for retirement in 2017 if he's not utilized by us this year. Dunbar has always been susceptible to injury at any given time, so there's that as well. Forward thinking isn't something that has been one of our FO's strong suits in the past. Hopefully, Stephen will be able to influence Jerry to move on to his talented youngsters, rather than hanging on to the oldsters who have seen better days. I'm really hoping we'll hang on to Jackson and get with developing the youth movement.

It's a great sign he is on the roster. I remember a lot of talk about trying to sneak him on the practice squad.

Had they done that, some team would probably be playing him right now. I think Jackson has a lot of talent that many here aren't aware of.
