Anybody else feeling more depressed about this team the last few days/weeks?

There are things to be upset over but when that is all you got you see nothing good then why the hell keep watching so you can come here and whine like some little kid who did not get his way. I see nothing wrong with talking about the good and the bad but when it turns into this daily whine feast well you can have it. I see the last 3 drafts by the Cowboys and I see some good young talent we have brought in and yes we need more and we need to improve along the OL but when people sit there and act as if there is nothing good then that is a load of BS and people who do not have the ability to see the entire picture because they are too busy whining. I leave that to the little girls I don't need it.

I get it and yes the last couple of drafts are encouraging and that is all potential at this point. I'm actually hoping JJ and son learned their lesson with our cap issues and will finally quit falling in love with players with long term contracts and focus on getting ahead of the draft.
Ironically you seem to be whining about the whining so just ignore and turn the page if the subject matter is not to your taste.
On the other hand you have to understand fans are weary and just need to vent. Long time fans are restless and are itching for anything different than mediocrity. It's the passion to win or at least to be heading in the direction of consistently be winning.
Your right, it's not that productive for conversation to some but it is therapeutic to others to know they are not alone with their passion to win and frustration while getting there.

Then those fans should go to Dr. Phil's website.

Sounds to me like he's just expressing his opinion. His last statement about open discussion is true.

Exactly. For some that is hard to take. I have never seen more whinning than by those that complain about whinning. Damn, grow up. If a poster don't want to read opinions that differ from theirs, they are welcome to use the ignore button or go to the top secret homer board that many of them are members of. This is a mediocre team. The salary cap is a mess, the oline needs revamped and many other problems plague this team. Instead of wanting to have a reasonable discussion, many posters had rather whine about the fans. I can't understand why they are so offended by opinions that don't match theirs. I am not offended by their blind homer opinions. It is their choice to live in a fantasy world and I respect that.

Dude I know exactly what you mean, but it's all a matter of perspective, and some people are just "happily unhappy". I work with a ton of them. The day they don't have something to be unhappy about will truly be the day that they aren't happy. We have many fans like this.

There's such an abundance of ridiculous threads and posts right now that you're only wasting your time trying to reason with some of these individuals. Nobody is going to be changing anybody's mind on here at this juncture. The season is over, we were 8-8. Lost as many as we won. We're not going to be active in FA and most likely not much is going to happen between now and the draft. So the people that think "the team is a mess" and the whole thing just needs "blown up" are going to keep thinking it. The people that think otherwise are going to keep going back to the things that give them reasons to hope.

Personally, I'm one of the fans that has hope, and believes this team can contend this coming season if they stay healthy and have another solid draft. Right now, lots of people on this board think otherwise. And nobody is going to change their minds during this point of the offseason. It is what it is.

Also, I too do not understand why some people continue to invest time and energy into being a fan when all they seem to see is negativity, and ultimately appear as though they don't even enjoy following the team. When I first signed up to this site I started this thread to find out why:

What I don't understand is why some in this thread think that being critical of this team is some indication of mental deficiency or pessimism about life in general. If I'm a movie critic and I write that a movie has an average plot, poor cinematography and lousy acting, it doesn't mean that I hate life or enjoy suffering. It just means I'm objective in giving my opinion about the bad movie I just saw. Simple as that.

Some people on here take "being critical" to a whole new level. You'd think we were a 2 win team last year with no chance of making the playoffs next year by some of these posts. I don't classify that as "critical". I classify it as something else.

I'd rather be a 2 win team, the tease of getting 8-8 only to have your hopes disintegrate in week 17 is the worst feeling. Plus we'd at least get some high draft picks. Heck look at the niners, they did it for a few years now they're back on top of the nfc.

Being a 2 win team doesn't guarantee future success anymore than being an 8 win team. Not only that, I'm only guaranteed 16 games of Cowboys football every season. I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and say I'd rather watch them win 2 games instead of 8.

We have the highest salary in the NFL, we played in the weakest division in football and went 8-8 finishin in 3rd and though no one has said it, we're in salary cap hell. Our rivals the 49ers are already the class of the NFC again, they have 14 draft picks and free agent are wanting to play there. We can't even address our glaring needs because of our cap situation , before cutting Conner we were over the cap before the fa period began. Now that's encouraging.

We have some good young players like Dez who showed that he can be an elite player in this league. Smith needs to grow and show that he can be as good on the left as the promise he showed on the right. I said before last year not to count left tackle as a strenght just yet, and you could imagine the response then. Carter and Lee are good players but the pre draft story remains true, can't stay on the field.

Do you think the 49er fans would give back their 2-14 seasons for 8-8, out the playoffs and picking 18th in the draft? At the end of the day its about challenging for the SB and those 2-14 seasons contributed to that.

Man, I hope that you're kidding about a secret homer board.

He's not. I had an account on there for several months so I could just read Hostile's articles, I never actually posted on there. Then I decided to put up my anti-Jerry avi a few months back on THIS website. Ever since then I can no longer log into my account on their forum. They disabled my account. LOL

I don't put people on ignore I'm a big boy and can handle myself. Yes I call people out why not they have no issues calling others out. Anyone who has anything positive to say they are called kool aid drinkers or not being realistic. Hell with that. Yes there are issues that the Cowboys must address there are also some good young players on this roster but some of you are too busy holding pity parties that you can't see it.

Nothing wrong with being critical but when the same people post the same stuff over and over it gets old. We have threads that constantly turn into Romo Sucks, Jerry sucks and Garrett sucks yet has nothing to do with the topic on hand.

The people who constantly whine turn every fricken tread into a bashing the Cowboys. Some fans would actually like to talk about football but no we have to deal with these same mindless banter from the same people over and over.

Like I already said being 2-14 doesn't guarantee future success any more than being 8-8. Because it worked for the 49ers doesn't mean it would work for everyone.
