Anybody else hear Romo?

Why in the heck would our "gunslinger" QB want to kick a field goal? It does not make any sense at all. Was Romo tired and just did not feel like trying? Does he believe more in the kicker than his own abilities? Seriously some common sense needs to prevail in this thread.

Just say no to common sense.

One poster "thinks" he heard Romo say something on TV during a live broadcast.

So all conculsions can be accurately portrayed from that!

Sounds reasonable to me.

Attempting a 56 yard FG would have been monumentally stupid at that point in the game.

Anybody with a properly functioning brain stem knows you punt in that situation.

Romo meant for Buehler to kick it.... For him it's a chip shot!:D

I didn't read through six pages of comments, but I know what the OP was referring to. And, no it doesn't mean that he's telling Wade what to do or that the team has lost respect for Wade. It was player lobbying for a decision in the heat of battle. It happens every week on every sideline to every coach. Get a grip, people.

I clearly saw Romo say "field goal" to Wade (rather than punting). He knew the offense let one slip away and he didn't want to leave the Panthers in position to take the lead with a TD.

It's not rocket surgery.

You guys hear Romo chewing on someone. I didn't see who it was and haven't watched it again to find out but it was the second time we had to call a TO cause we couldn't get the call in time.

Tony yelled "Can't happen....No More" Then he said something else and i couldn't hear what he said. He was walking to the sideline right before they went to commercial.

He was telling the reps that the Panthers Dline was yelling the Cadence and that it shouldn't be happening. I thought the broadcast made it clear

Oh OK, i was back and forth from the TV and the computer talking with the guys here so i must have missed that. Thanks for the info.

When he was yelling "Can't happen! No more!" that was after a personnel screwup with our guys that forced us to burn a timeout. I believe he was getting on Anderson.

I thought Tony told wade that he thought he was a pretty piece of man flesh.

But my ears have been giving me fits so maybe I was wrong.

That's what i originally thought before this newnationcb guy chimed in:confused:

exactly! thank you. great point he wouldnt have said it to bill. i doubt FOUR and AUDIMAN played sports cause people who have know you dont tell a coach how to do his job.

nope, I never played organized sports. that still doesn't change the fact that you don't know exactly what he said, nor the context in which he said it. therefore, you have no clue what you're talking about and are making assumptions.

another fact: if Romo actually said this to Wade, ESPN and other sports media outlets would have a feild day and it would've already have been on the news.

I think this is being blown up into absolutely nothing. It was in the heat of the moment, during a tight game, and the competitor in Tony believed that a made field goal there would put the game away.

I'm sure he didn't think about if Folk missed cause I'd imagine Tony just has faith that Folk will make it. Not to mention it's not like they couldn't have let David try the kick if they just had to have it. But here's the thing. Tony wanted the field goal in the heat of competition but his coach did what his coach wanted to do which was pin them back deep and put it on the defense that had played lights out the entire second half.

Wade did what was the right call and it didn't effect anything. He didn't hurt Tony's feelings by not going with the FG and I doubt, very seriously, that by going with the punt that the team feels like they can push him around.

tell wade to kick a 56 yard fieldgoal win it 13-7 the possesion before tnew got the int?(i think)

ive heard of QBs begging the coach to go for it on 4 and 1/goal and such but telling your coach how to do his job? its clear to me the players dont really respect him.

That is not showing him disrespect. I would bet most players would want to go for it no matter what.

Are you guys serious? Watch the game again and listen to the broadcast. He wasn't even speaking to the bench (from that distance) and it was clearly directed at the ref.

I'll wait to hear your apology if you're man enough:rolleyes:

Yes, Thank you! This is why the fans get so many things wrong, everyone thinks they know!!

because they werent close enough to the first down. pretty much everybody that knows what im talking about says he said to go for the field goal whats in question is whether or not you think it was disrespectful to tell wade go kick it.

i agree but he was yelling from the field and it just sounded different from saying hey why dont we go for it.

You're confused. Dakota was referring to a mix-up that happens near the six minute mark in the second quarter. Choice, Felix and Anderson were confused on the personnel package. Romo had to burn a timeout due to the confusion. As the broadcast is cutting to commercial they zoom in on Romo walking towards the sideline and he yells "Can't happen! No more! Nobody!" It appears he was yelling towards Anderson, but you can't really tell.

Just went back to look at it and you're absolutely right. My bad! I was referring to a different play where he was saying "can't happen"
