Proph, I'm going to have to side with Hostile on this matter. This is pretty much a dead issue. Why the Chargers selected Norval is beyond my comprehension. The time has come to move on, brother.

what do you know.....bowman body and prophet "brothering" out on another board.

The timeliness of this is just goofed up. We had several weeks of debate over who Jerry should hire. We're 2 1/2 weeks past the revalation of the choice. Suddenly we need to go backwards and discuss the whole process again and whether or not the right choice was made?

You just saved me from having to post "welcome to two weeks ago"... LOL...

Besides, now that Norval was selected by arguably the best talented team in the NFL with the league best regular season record, the story has been rekindled.
It's like a scene from Rain Man which keeps looping over and over and over and...

How about we discuss some football instead? For crying out loud, we have all kinds of information overload from the Combines, Stewart possibly as DC.

I think this has been hashed out ad nauseum.

The only reason I mentioned it was because of what this reporter's opinion is. Besides, now that Norval was selected by arguably the best talented team in the NFL with the league best regular season record, the story has been rekindled.
I was just curious if any others on this board felt that perhaps we should have hired Norval. What did SD see in him that we did not? Perhaps the owners liked it better when they were a sub .500 team. LOL.

What was seen was that Wade Phillips was not an option for them, that is all.

Two words--"remember Oakland"--he was just flatout awful as a coach there worse than Phillips was anywhere, honestly they may have a better team player wise but they got the leftovers coaching wise, I'm amazed at how our staff came together, I think it was time for a change, I thought that the NewOrleans game showed that the NFL had caught up to our schemes and we need some new plays on offense--we never were able to use Owens like he should be used. On the other side the league got our vanilla 3-4 scheme down pat and tore it apart, need some major overhaul here too....

I think it speaks volumes that Norv has a close relationship with JJ's, but still picked Wade.
