They were a burr in our saddle....seemed like we always lost to them once a year. Also Coryell, Jim Otis, Dobler, Jackie Smith, Deirdorf, Wherli.....Metcalf and Grey killed us and later OJ Anderson.

Mel Gray was a Cowboys Killer. He still holds the record for the most TD's by an opposing player in Cowboys History.

Jim Hart was a good QB who played many great games against Dallas.

Terry Metcalf was a versatile elusive RB.He would be even better in the style of Offenses we see now.

Merideth's first season as an analyst...he was so embarrassed about his former team's play ,and lambasted the Cowboys for their effort in that game.

Dobler's Wikipedia article is very interesting...says that when he & his family fell on hard times, golfer Phil Mickelson paid the college tuition of two of his kids.

That’s a good thing for Phil to have done

Want to say that they beat us 38-0 on Monday Night Football in 1970. Reaching way way back in the brain cell department fellas and gals! We did go onto the SB.

My specialist asthma doctor when I was young (4 thru about 8 or 9 so about ‘72-‘76) was Dr. Strominger at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Had to go down there to do skin tests to see what all I was allergic to (basically everything but breathing LOL). He would give me so much grief for wearing my Cowboys hoodie but was all in fun. He’d always put me in the examining room that had autographed pictures of all those guys. You left out Pat Tilley too.

This trio for the St. Louis Cardinals when they were NFC East, used to light the Cowboys up, especially on MNF in the 70's.... The name "Metcalf" is poison to Cowboy fans. :banghead:
Yep, wish I was young enough to say no lol

'Big dog cowboy' - I did not sleep that night...and the next day at school, in the neighborhood, on TV and radio, and at church the following week - the Cowboys fans slapped them upside the head, stepped on their throat, and kicked them in the nuts on their pathetic play the night before.
Exactly how the Cardinals did them that game.

After that 38-0 embarrassing loss on our initial MNF appearance we didn’t lose again until Super Bowl V.

heck yeah, remember them well. I think they beat Dallas on Thanksgiving 1976. It was a very good team when the rosters didnt change much from year to year. Larry Wilson, Jackie Smith, Coryell and great offensive line.
Back in the 70s when a qb was praised for 4th quarter comebacks they werent counting when you start the 4th and are down by 3 and end up winning (thats not anything special)
Roger Staubach got praise for that, but Jim Hart was the other won who had a ton of real late comebacks. Didnt they call them the Cardiac Cards?

'Diehardblues' -- glad you brought that up ---with all of the discussions, debate, banter, and arguments about the Cowboys' wins this season against teams with losing records.
The 1970 BaItimore Colts went 11-2-1.
Their 2 defeats were from a 7-5-2 Chiefs and a 10-4 Dolphins teams.
They beat the Dolphins for a season split.
In the other 11 games where the Colts went 10-0-1...the nine teams they played all finished with a losing record (Colts played the Bills and the Jets twice).
Yet - in the playoffs, they beat a division winner\winning record Bengals and Raiders to be the AFC Champion, then (unfortunately) beat a winning record /NFC Championship Cowboys in SB V to capture the NFL Title.

So CZers and fans of other teams should cease with critizing the Cowboys winning 2023 record.
And by the way-- every victory they get save one (the Commanders) the rest of the regular season will likely be against a team that finishes with a winning record - and be in the playoffs.
