I didn't know he passed. Sorry to hear that also.Sorry to hear that .
I won't ever forget that game.Dandy Don was there and he was sick about it too. Howard Cosell, Frank Gifford, and Meridith.'Diehardblues' -- glad you brought that up ---with all of the discussions, debate, banter, and arguments about the Cowboys' wins this season against teams with losing records.
The 1970 BaItimore Colts went 11-2-1.
Their 2 defeats were from a 7-5-2 Chiefs and a 10-4 Dolphins teams.
They beat the Dolphins for a season split.
In the other 11 games where the Colts went 10-0-1...the nine teams they played all finished with a losing record (Colts played the Bills and the Jets twice).
Yet - in the playoffs, they beat a division winner\winning record Bengals and Raiders to be the AFC Champion, then (unfortunately) beat a winning record /NFC Championship Cowboys in SB V to capture the NFL Title.
So CZers and fans of other teams should cease with critizing the Cowboys winning 2023 record.
And by the way-- every victory they get save one (the Commanders) the rest of the regular season will likely be against a team that finishes with a winning record - and be in the playoffs.
You could rattle Hart though, a few good sacks and he'd fall apartThis trio for the St. Louis Cardinals when they were NFC East, used to light the Cowboys up, especially on MNF in the 70's.... The name "Metcalf" is poison to Cowboy fans.
OJ Anderson always gave us a tough time too. This trio for the St. Louis Cardinals when they were NFC East, used to light the Cowboys up, especially on MNF in the 70's.... The name "Metcalf" is poison to Cowboy fans.
14 wins to 6 losses - Cowboys over Cardinals 1970-79.They were a Great Team, but let's not give in to nostalgia. Most games we blew them out. Every once in a while they would come up with an upset
but reality is we owned their Azzez
And Jackie Smith.Dan Dierdorf, Conrad Dobler, Jim Bakken...
Very good team back then.
Metcalf + Cowboys= Disaster!
