I don't know, seems like we are still lacking an identity. We have 3 healthy backs, yet Romo throws all over the place today. Maybe its a good problem to have, but it really seems like Romo and the offense need to get into a grove, whether it is running or passing the ball. Would still like to see some passes to Jones in space.

I'm alright with it. He has just created nightmares for defensive coordinators everywhere. Go ahead -- do what you gotta do to shut down Austin and Jones and Barber and Witten and Williams and Bennett and Choice and Crayton. Oh yeah -- and Romo.

Tony Romo could make any ginger look amazing with the game he had today.

Still, garbage running game against the 23rd ranked rushing defense.

And yet another "fan", who rather than enjoy a rather impressive win, has to take shots at the team...

"What crawled up JG behind today"?? Nothing, really; the Boys averaged 7.0 yards per play today, against a season average of 6.9 yards per play going into the game... they gained 414 yards offensively, against a season average of 420.4 goig into the game... so it would seem like a rather average offensive performance by the Boys, a rather average game for Garrett...

I've said it before, I'll say it again-- anybody who thinks that Jason Garrett is doing anything less than a superlative job as offensive coorinator this season is a card-carrying MORON... the Boys are averaging 419.3 yards per game through games this year, an average that would have led the league last year... they're averaging 26.5 points per game this year, an average that would have 5th in the NFL last year...

If you're not satisfied with that kind of production, your standards are so ridiculously high as to be completely asinine...

Exactly.

The thing that changed today was turnovers.

If we win the turnover margin, we're a VERY tough team to beat. It's that simple.

He finally figured out there was another page of plays on his tecmo screen.

:laugh2:

Nice Tecmo reference.

I also liked how Romo was able to evade the sack at the end of the 2nd quarter when Atlanta picked the same play. Nice pocket presence!

Lets be honest here...he should have rolled out and thrown it away when he felt the pressure...we didnt have any more timeouts.

But that's why we love Romo. You take the good w/ the bad, and this game, there was plenty of good.

I wasn't trying to down JG, and for the record you are the first one to resort to name calling

Where did I indulge in any name-calling??

I think Garrett called a beautiful game but all I want to know is why did it take this long?

That's bullcrap, and you know it-- "what crawled up JG butt" is meant to be insulting...

This is all very true. To be fair, there have been struggles in the red zone in recent games which have limited the 'Boys ability to turn yards into points. Today, they got 10 points from their 2 trips into the red zone, pretty good against an excellent red zone defense - that was nice to see.

I agree completely, I have remarked in recent weeks about the red zone struggles... a perfectly legitimate nit is what you just picked... :D

Gotta give credit to the Oline, the offense seems to go as they go. They had a bunch of penalties again, but they also did a great job protecting Romo. MB3 is the best back in the NFL at blitz pick up he had some crushing blocks Sunday.

It's not all about stats. How many times must we say this?

The criticism of Jason Garrett isn't that he racks up eye-popping stats. Rather, it's that he sometimes doesn't understand the ebb and flow of the game and when it's best to run the ball and in what situations.

This team could be 6-0 AND HAVE THE STATS if not for some bone-headed play calling.

I submit that some of you will ignore the forest for the trees... I rather doubt that there has EVER been an offensive coordinator in the NFL whose EVERY call has been agreed with by the fans...

It's easy to get giddy after a game like this. But in tough games where we need to run the ball instead of flinging it, will Garrett understand the game situation and respond accordingly?

Jason is a pass-first offensive coordinator, and always will be... and his body of work suggests that his approach works in the NFL... like I said, I'll take the stats the Boys are racking up, and win a lot of games with them...

Garrett did what he's done consistently since becoming the OC, put guys in position to make plays.

I agree and the players executed that was the main difference.

I just KNEW someone would complain about the running game. Nevermind that they loaded up against the run on us.

Great post SB.
