If Ware went unblocked into the backfield as often as Merriman was today you would see him on the highlight reels as well.

When have we seen a blitz package put together by Zimmer that worked?

I would say there is a lack of imagination put into those schemes and that's why we see our players blitz and do this.... :banghead:

I don't really know what it is, but it seems like we have started hot under Parcells every year, and cooled as the season progressed.

I've always wondered about that.

...ground control, low scoring games forces your team to really play physical all the way to the end.

His style of ball has kept us in alot of games and the team is tiring out now on the defensive side.

On the offensive side we are unable to push downhill on the opposing d-lines because of the predictability of our play. The old guys are getting winded.

I have been saying for awhile that I think this team needs at least two more LBers if they want to run the 3-4.

Replacements for Fujita and Shanle would help a lot IMO.

Well, it's to be expected.

If you look at our team, especially on defense, it's amazing the number of rookies we have.
In one of the PCs Tuna said our 3-4 is very, very basic because the rookies are thinking not playing instinctively. Takes a season if not more.

Unfortunately our rookie D has hit a wall (Gints pretty much shut down KC) and pretty much the air is out of our tires until next season.

Burnett needs playing time. He's really aggressive out there, and in the last two games I've seen him go up against and get around big Olineman

Well....

Looking over this season.....our Rookies...especially...Ware and Spears...have been average....I watched probally 75% of the games and they don't seem to be difference makers to me.

Could be coaching....Zimmer does that to a player.....but my expectations were alot more....

btw...who did we draft in the second round again?

I've watched every game, and frankly, the defense has gone downhill along with the offense all season long. This team is finishing just like last year's team. I'm wondering if Parcells hits a wall.

Ive been saying for weeks that our rookies have hit the wall. If we just had 1 rookie it wouldn't be so noticeable but we've got several playing on defense and you can't hide that many. We've also lost 2 vet starting LBs and if we all remember Parcells was concerned about our LBs & the lack of vet experience before season started which is why he traded for Fujita. We've also lost our past rush which I think is probably attributable to the fact that Glover & Ellis (major part of our earlier season pass rush) have slowed down as the 3-4 defensive scheme has taken its toll on them. We are also playing a very basic 3-4 scheme this year because Parcells didn't believe he could place any more pressure on our mostly young defensive players. I do think our defense will be a whole lot better next year with a years experience in 3-4 under their belts and the rookies will benefit from the offseason conditioning program. We do need to add at least 1 more high quality LB, FS and am not sure that we can afford to keep Glover (cap hit $4.3M in 06) next year.

We all know that our offense needs serious upgrading next year in the draft. We've got so much cap money invested in our OL that I'm not sure how much more we can spend there in FA. We have 3 picks the first day & 4 picks the 2nd day. Hopefully the new scouting team which JJ/Parcells put in place this offseason will be equally successful in selecting offensive players.

Finally you guys are way to negative and impatient. Many of you act like every one of our rookies must produce immediately or they are busts. Well they are not busts it just takes each of them a different amount of time to fully adjust to a new defensive system, the NFL, etc. You are also to quick to want to get rid of Parcells. I can imagine what some of you thought of Landry during the early yards and don't tell me that you didn't want to burn Jimmy Johnson at the stake in 89 & 90 caused I wouldn't believe you. One problem we have with the Cowboys is the lack of consistency. We had Landry for long time, then Jimmy Johnson 5 year, Barry Switzer 4 year, Gailey 2 year, Campo 3 year and after only 3 years with Parcells most of you want him gone. Why so we can start over again with another idiot that Jerry Jones goes after. We can't solve all the problems Jerry created from drafting & signing so many poor players during the 93-02 era. So give it a rest. Parcells did make some poor coaching descisions both in games and in selection of players. Well get a life -- all coaches, GMs make mistakes. We've got a lot of young players who just need time & we need to add more this offseason--most of them on offense but also a few on defense. I bet this offseason will be as interesting as this past one. Lots to look forward too. So just relax. We will get back to winning SBs again.
